Awesome location and nice views. Everything you could need for a beach house. Think could do with a good deep clean and had a bit of a musty old smell going on and maybe needs an update a bit-outdated. but otherwise a good stay. thank you :)

Yes very good host. We really enjoyed our stay. The place is quite run down like the doors and windows and hard to open and close etc, but that’s the kiwi Bach experience- we really enjoyed our stay

Foxton beach wee break

Dave was so helpful must say. The location was really great. We felt that the house would have been wonderful but there were a few issues. The photos on book a bach certainly arent what you find when you open the door.The house was quite dirty. To be honest the place could do with a professional clean. We needed to clean before we could unpack. There were rails missing on the deck not toddler friendly as advertised as was the gate at the top of the outdoor stairway just a hook catch which the three year old just undid straight away. Again not child friendy.Very dangerous. Duvets had been slept in no clean covers but we took our own. We also needed to hang the duvets on the line in the sunshine.due to them being very smelly.

A genuine old school Kiwi bach (dated but very homley/comfortable) Excellent location. Great communication with the owner. Would definitely stay again

Great location

The house was in a great spot 2 min walk to the beach. Great deck to sit on and enjoy the sun. 3 good size rooms and 1 small room. But the house was dirty, The toilets leaked water all over the floor.There was sand although the shower. The duvets supplied were dirty ( we had our own sheets and pillows so didnt use anything there.) We only stayed 1 night instead of two. Its a shame as the house has a lot of potential it just needs a really good clean.

Nice stay

Very near to the beach, the bedrooms are warm and have plenty of small heaters. David is a good host. The house has everything for family, oven works super fine. Didnt have any issue with the hot water.

Always a good place for multiple people

Great batch style house close to the beach and the pub. Got everything you need. Showers average but with a short stay dont need it. Us cousins meet once a year to catch up and chill for a weekend away. Will be back.

Great value for money

We booked last minute for between Xmas/NY when there were only a couple of places left in Foxton Beach. I was surprised this place was still available given the low price and proximity to the beach - the other one was the same size but 3x the price. The photos on the listing don’t do this place justice. I suspect brighter/clearer photos with white duvet covers and more sea and lawn views would bring more bookings. The first floor deck (looks newish) has a great view of the sea, it was so nice sitting out there in the evening with a glass of wine. I’d describe this place as well worn & loved. We didn’t see any issues with cleanliness that some of the other reviews mentioned. We have stayed in many baches along the Kapiti coast and this place was well equipped and well maintained. Wifi was a bonus too. No dishwasher but that’s usually the case with baches. There’s a private path to the beach. The back & front lawn were great for the kids to kick a ball around. Being the middle of summer there were plenty of neighbours around - they were pretty considerate noise wise. If you don’t mind a bit of wear and tear, retroness and like a bargain then I’d recommend this place 100%. One of the other reviews said the jets in the spa bath don’t work, but we only used the shower which was fine. The owner David was very communicative and helpful.

Stay at 42 Nelson Street

We loved the house. Unfortunately, the heating upstairs didn't work but we sorted that out with heaters elsewhere in the house. It is a very versatile home, with easy access to the beach, and is not so pristine clean that you didn't feel comfortable. We would suggest a deep clean by a professional company once a year to keep it is tip-top shape. Would definitely come back

Fantastic Whanau Holiday Home

Had a lovely experience staying at this property. It was convenient for us as it was close to the beach and we spent majority of our time there. It was unfortunate we only had nice weather the first day and the rest of our stay was indoors as it was raining but it was awesome to have indoor activities for us to use. Just ashamed to see some of the equipment not look after by previous stayers as some of the chairs were broken or not dishes weren’t cleaned properly. Other then that we enjoyed our stay and the neighbours were lovely and made us feel welcomed. Will love to stay here in the near future.

We booked the bach for some of our performers that were taking part in The Little Foxton Beach Comedy Fest, and it was perfect for us. Very close to the venue we were using, plenty of parking and all that you needed for a stay. Thank you very much for the hospitality and we'd love to book again next year :)
