"Had a Marvellous time - The staff make you so welcome and everything is catered for excellently- from breakfast to assisting with dinner reservations, places to see, the owner even went to get a razor and shaving cream from the local shop as I had forgotten mine, Champagne for our anniversary - I can not recommend this place enough it’s a place of tranquility and splendour."

"We stayed at Mont Rochelle for the second stop of our honeymoon. We had previously come from Cape Town, and it was an easy one hour ish drive/Uber into Franschhoek. This place is absolutely gorgeous!!! We came during the winter months and the sunset over the vineyards and mountains were stunning. The hotel staff was extremely helpful and accommodating. The customer service here was top of the line. We were checked in by Peter and he helped us map our the activities and transportation required...

"Very average place but comes with a very high price. Standards not up to the price being charged. Attention to the little things missing. Definitely not worth over Euro 300 per night! Bathroom towels old and fraying. No back-up power for repeated load-shedding (even 3-star hotels in Cape Town / Graaf-Reinett / Kruger Park / across South Africa now have full solar invertor - back-up generators installed!). Bed too short (and I am average height - my feet hang over end which last happened to me...

"Sad to leave but thrilled to have stayed at Akademie. However we do have unfinished business so we will be back, that is certain. Our room was just exceptional: spacious, well equipped and the staff fired up the balcony hottub based on our return time, you might think a hottub in the glorious weather we had, but yes…. To sit there for 30 minutes and just stare at the mountains and the blue sky above was magical. The breakfasts either served in the orangery of pool side were a taste bud delight....

"Stayed here 2/19/24 through 2/21. Location and property are absolutely beautiful, but unwalkable from downtown Franschhoek, so you'll need a rental car or us their recommended taxi service via Whatsapp if you plan to drink lots of wine. Uber was not reliable in this area. The staff were very nice and the breakfast options were good, but limited. I would highly recommend this location. "

"We fell in love with Leeu House. The staff were so friendly and so helpful - preempting our needs before we even asked. Going above and beyond to help us with reservations (including a last minute request to help us find somewhere to watch the sunset!). The grounds are absolutely beautiful, as are the rooms. Feels like a little sanctuary but still walking distance from all the best restaurants, galleries and the wine tram. Highly highly recommend. Only thing is we wish the pool was heated!"

"Recently returned from a 3 night stay at these apartments and we had a great stay in apartment 6. It was modern, clean and bang in the centre of Franschhoek town. The check in was the quickest ever and room was ready for us despite arriving early. The facilities were great and bed comfy - didn’t want to leave the place and wouldn’t hesitate to book when visiting again 😀 "

"Our first stay at Leeu estates did not disappoint. We have stayed at several other properties in the area and this one just sneaks to the prime position, as our new favourite. Very peaceful, luxurious, great service, wonderful dining options, fabulous rooms and amenities. Staff were excellent and couldn’t have been more helpful.
