River access is steep, nice backyard area, out of town but close enough, beautiful area, ceiling tiles need a little love for those with allergies

It's just GORGEOUS there. I wish I could go back today. Even in the winter - absent what I would've loved to do there (FISH! - it IS on the Au Sable!) - it was still really really cozy. I needed a retreat - and this was perfect. VERY quiet (I'm a musician- and I need quiet). A perfect place to collect my thoughts. I loved that it was a good 10 minutes from town as well (separation- good; supplies-close enough) The owner thought of everything! PERFECT!

Clean, quiet, all amenities inside/outside were exactly what we needed. The walk down to the river is a bit steep, but we were aware prior to renting and had no issues at all. Had a wonderful stay!

Cabin was perfect!! We all had a Great time just chilling, grilling on the fire pit and hanging in the water!! Only thing is the deck steps down to the water were not the best, but we just used the hill. Would definitely stay again!!!

The cabin was clean and cozy. Nice fire pit area in the back and only 15 minutes from stores. The main bed was very uncomfortable. It sinks down low on one side, It should be replaced. Being unable to sleep well definitely impacted the stay. I would avoid this rental until the bed has been replaced with a new bed.

The location is okay but we were mostly coming to get into the water and go canoeing which we were told there were canoes and kayaks on site and a place to drop in. That is correct however they did not mention the extremely steep incline hill of mud and roots to get into and out of the water and the length of the incline which is absolutely not doable so basically the ploy to get us on site and booked dropped many stars for our family. If I were to just rate the house that was a 4.

So I wanted to give a honest review of this cabin and property cause I feel the advertisement for it is a little dishonest. Pulling up to this cabin first off its right off a major road and you can hear all the traffic from it very loudly. There is housing on both sides of you and there is no privacy. Inside the cabin the ceilings are so low my husband had to angle his neck to walk around. To get down to the little dock you have to go down a perilous trail that we elected to do only once. The bathroom and shower are very small for anyone that has a little extra in the middle to themselves. I wasn't thrilled with what we got after getting there from seeing what they show to what the reality is. I will not be coming back, just make sure you realize it's not the cabin they make it out to be.

When booking I wanted something with water access, not to swim or kayak, but to just sit out at.
The dock is EXTREMELY questionable, the stairs shown in the picture that lead down to the dock are false. There is none. It's a steep incline that my husband helped me get down. There were screws coming out, one of the rails on the dock were loose and could not hold any weight. There were some benches (shown in picture) around the fire, however these have not been maintained and the one when we went to move it completely fell apart. The log where you can hook a dog up to is rotten through and wouldn't even hold a small dog. (Not that we brought any animals).
The porch is falling apart in some spots.
The cabin was difficult to find because there's nothing really out at the road to show you where you're going.
There are 2 houses nearby and while there is a fence on the one side the other has some trees between.
Walking into the house it smelled like wet dog. The ceiling is low so my 6'3" husband had to duck or turn his head in many areas.
There was a half full travel coffee mug in the bathroom. A random towel next to the sofa. Was washing the dishes before we used them because they werent all clean
Minimal supplies, mostly a few basics in the kitchen.
The bed has not been fixed/replaced as eluded to in the previous reply because it has a serious lean to the head.
The shower is tiny. Barely room to turn around. Overall just a decent place, but not quite worth the $.

We stayed and felt was a great location, traveling with a child, i wouldn't pick this location.
if you a couple just trying to get away that should be fine. talking with the actual owner, was a great experience. Easy check in... has a bit more then liked for added fees for the cabin condition.

Property was as described minus walkout to dock...does have a small dock on the water but not the easiest path to get there. Cabin was clean and cozy and all essentials were provided. Liked the self chech-in and check-out.

This little cabin reignited our love our northern lower Michigan! We had an amazing, relaxing stay here. The cabin is immaculately clean and even included pantry staples. I definitely overpacked! We were also thrilled our dog was allowed to stay with us.
We spent most of our time down by the river. We even brought our kayaks with us but didn't need them due to the wonderful canoe that is also provided. Such a beautiful river to fish, wade and canoe on! The whole time we were there we never saw another person, even on the river! Loved the seclusion.
We were sad (I think our dog was the saddest) we had to leave our new favorite little getaway spot but will definitely be back, if we don't buy a place of our own soon!

Quiet, secluded, cabin on the river. Sitting on the dock riverside you feel away from everyone & everything. Looking for Upper Michigan solitude? This is it. It's still close to Traverse City Sleeping Bear Dunes, & other busier Michigan attractions.

Quiet cabin, sitting on the dock or in the river itself is a splendid Michigan experience. Easy to find, but when you're on the river you feel like you're 100 miles from anyone else.

Great Northern Michigan getaway right on the Au Sable River. Right next to Harwick Pines and within an hour of Mackinac and just a little over an hour to Traverse City.
The property managers were excellent. Quick, professional, accurate communication at all times!
We loved our crisp Fall getaway, but will absolutely be looking to book this property again when we can get in the RIVER!

we had a very pleasant stay. Cabin was cute, well stocked and clean. So many places to explore and to retire to the cabin to enjoy a campfire and relax . Many a good meals were prepared over the fire pit and charcoal grill. Jon was an extremely good host and we will have fond memories of this place
