The pros:
- Truly stunning views, the sunrise and sunset should not be missed.
- Secluded location and you really feel you are on your own private mountain.
- Wildlife on the property, every morning and evening we saw a large group of deer on the property. Once we even saw several elk.
The cons:
- A very strong odor of sewage made it difficult to want to stay inside the property.
- The rear exterior deck which we were looking forward to sitting on and enjoying the view had been completely torn out. This area was also not secured, so could be a safety concern. None of the decks had any furniture where you could sit and enjoy the view, which was a very big disappointment.
- We experienced the same issues upon arrival that others have also reported. The instructions were unclear. After calling support we were finally able to locate the lockbox and obtain the correct code to retrieve the key. Then we discovered the house was already unlocked and unsecured, which was a bit unsettling when entering such a remote property.
- The singular TV on the property was impossible to operate without any instructions. Multiple remotes and could not select the correct input. TV was not the most important amenity to us, but it would have been nice after dark when there was not any other activity.
- Too many labels throughout the house. Do not open, no guest access, alarm will sound. It is very apparent you are staying in someone else’s home and a bit unwelcoming. Find a better way to secure personal property without making it feel so restrictive while using the home.
Some of our experiences, especially regarding the odor and the deck, may have been unique to our trip. There may be issues they are actively trying to remediate, but the professional and courteous thing to do would have been to notify us of these issues in advance. We would have been more understanding in that situation.
