Welcome to Corner Cove! This spacious 4 bedroom, 2 bathroom home in Jamaica Beach offers a beautiful HEATED private pool and is the perfect escape for those seeking a mix of relaxation and outdoor activities.

As a canal-front home with over 180 feet of waterfront, Corner Cove is a great place to launch kayaks for a peaceful cruise through Jamaica Beach's many canals, or through the kayaking trails of the nearby Galveston Island State Park. Three kayaks and life vests are provided with your stay! If you prefer to keep your feet on dry ground, grab a drink and one of the many provided fishing rods and try your hand at catching flounder, trout, drum, or any other of the many fish species that live in the canals. Or, grab one of the provided crab traps and toss it in! There are many blue crabs in the canals.

The pool area, of course, is the pinnacle of home and ground zero for relaxation and fun. Four chaise lounge chairs are the perfect spot for sunbathing in between dips, and those looking to avoid the sun can do so in our adjacent covered garage space which has plenty of seating, a standing bar, and a fun mix of games like axe throwing (safe plastic!) and hook-and-ring.

Our pool is heated, and for the comfort of our guests will be maintained at no less than approximately 78-80 degrees from March 1st through October 31st of each year at no extra charge. For bookings from November through February, we are more than happy to heat the pool for an additional fee of $40 per night. If booking Nov. - Feb. dates, simply tell us that you'd like the pool heated during your stay and we will send a follow-up payment requests. Please note that if the air temperature drops below 40 degrees, it may not be feasible to heat the pool, but we will do our best.

The home is just a two-minute drive to the beach, and guests are allowed to drive directly onto the beach to park. Be sure to grab one of the provided boogie boards to take with you. When you return, there is an outdoor shower to rinse off. The City of Jamaica Beach also offers a nearby community playground with a pavilion and basketball court.


Corner Cove offers huge decks and covered porches for lounging, all of which offer beautiful views of the surrounding water. On the second floor deck, you will not only find lounge chairs and patio furniture, but also a large 8-person picnic table perfect for al fresco meals. On the ground level, you will find a huge covered patio with a grill, a large picnic table, and plentiful seating directly on the canals.

The interior of the home is spacious and well-decorated. The large living room has two comfy couches, a recliner, and a TV and entertainment system. The kitchen is fully stocked with virtually everything you will need during your stay, including pots, pans, dishes, cutlery, and appliances. The adjacent dining tables have space for up to 10 diners, and the kitchen bar provides space for another 3.

Corner Cove has 4 bedrooms that are set up as follows: (1) master bedroom with king-size bed, pull-out futon, and en suite bathroom; (2) guest bedroom with queen-size bed, as well as a separate bunk bed with a full size bed on the bottom and a twin bed on top; (3) a guest bedroom with a full-size bed and pull-out futon; and (4) a guest bedroom with a queen size bed. All bedding, linens, pillows, and towels are of course included with the rental. The house sleeps a maximum of 12 guests.

There are two large full bathrooms inside the home, including a hallway bathroom with a tub/shower combo and another bathroom located in the master bathroom. It, too, has a tub/and shower combo.

Have a boat? Feel free to bring it! There is a nearby boat launch, and guests are free to dock alongside the home (please note: the home's boat lift is currently occupied by the owner's boat and so is unavailable for renters' use). Please note: as of May 18, 2020, the City of Jamaica Beach now requires guests to purchase daily permits to use the City's boat launch. Daily passes are $10, and can be purchased at the City's office. For more information please ask.

If you find the motivation to venture out (you may find it tough to leave!), Galveston Island provides enough restaurants and activities to keep you entertained for weeks. Take a day to explore Moody Gardens, which has a zoo, aquarium, water park, and movie theater! Or, head to Schlitterbahn to experience one of the nation's best water parks.

In downtown Galveston, you will find the famous seawall, one of the nation's longest continuous sidewalks--all of which runs along the beach and is a perfect place to rent bicycles. Venture a bit further, and you will find the historic Strand, a New Orleans style street lined with shops, restaurants, and bars (grab a drink and walk around! Open containers allowed!). Then, head one block over to Galveston harbor, where you will find waterfront dining and bars, as well as the opportunity to tour the Elissa, a sailing ship built in 1877. Or, take a one-hour boat tour of the harbor and surrounding areas, a tour that includes a visit to the ruins of the sunken SS Selma and, more often than not, close-up encounters with Galveston's many dolphins!
