Great place!

The place was great although a little outdated. The outlets in the bathrooms did not work. It was clean and the distance to the beach was awesome! We enjoyed our stay!

Needs some attention.

Nice location with great potential. Sanitation and bed comfort was fine. But the place inside and out needs attention and repairs. When we asked the manager about issues we were experiencing we got no response.

Perfect for our family!

This one is a jem! It is even better in person. We drove past all the crowded beaches and were delighted to have this beach all to ourselves! The house was clean and decorated so cute! With the big wheeled wagon under the house, we easily pulled all our stuff to the beach in minutes. We cant wait to go back!

Don't search any further~

This is the perfect spot for a get-away! Plenty of room for cooking and family time. You can see the beach between the houses and when you load up your beach gear into the large wagon in the storage closet, you will be on the sand in a few minutes! The beach is just for residents so every time we went, we had a big section of the beach all to ourselves! The outdoor shower even has hot water, so it was easy to keep the sand outside. We can't wait to go back!

Great Place for a Great Price

This was somewhat of a last minute booking, so we were pleasantly surprised to find a place with a reasonable rate. Even though it's on the 3rd row from the beach, you still see the surf in between and underneath the houses in front, and it was a nice scenic view. The kids loved all the places in or outside the house to be on their own. Really easy walk to the beach through the public path straight ahead. We used the included heady duty steel wagon to haul our stuff to the beach. Everything was clean and functional with a seaside vibe. We'll book it again next time we travel to Galveston.

Beachy, relaxing retreat

This is the second time we’ve stayed at Double Decker. We love the location, close to a quieter beach, and conveniently close to a beach access: only a two-minute walk to the sand. We love the beachy decor as well as the ocean view and relaxing sound you can enjoy from any of the three decks. The kitchen would benefit from some upgrading, but it does have everything we need to cook nice meals plus a few extras (both Keurig-type and drip coffee makers, blender, potato masher, grater…). The administrators were very quick to respond and very helpful when we needed.

Galveston by the beach

Loved the place and location. The only issues were thr plug ins in the bathrooms didn’t work...and we tried the switches. If there is a trick to this it would be nice to know. The shower in the small bathroom was set so it wouldn't run hot. The sound bar for the TV didn't have batteries...but luckily we figured it out and there were batteries in the drawer. A description of how to work it and connect may be helpful to others. The lawn furniture on the deck was dirty so we hauled it downstairs ti hose it off. One of the Adirondack chairs was broken when we got there...that should be discarded. The tub in the main bath wouldn't drain unless the stopper was held up. You have to watch the toaster or your toast will burn...no matter the setting. Just FYI...there are bird building a home under the building. Overall...we had a great time!

Beautiful views! Close to the ocean! Very nice place to stay!

Clean, everything is there that you need for the stay! Very close to the ocean, we loved it! The only thing i would add, Tvs for the bedrooms, and blinds, but overall, it is a fantastic place! We definitely will be going back!!

Overall stay was good, however the cleanliness was not up to par. There were random hairs around the house, in one of the towels on the primary bed, on the counter in one of the bathrooms and in the kitchen. Location was great but the cleanliness took it down a notch for sure.

The place was amazing. Easy walk to the beach. Location is about 15 minutes from all the good stuff. The beach was great, mostly families. Quiet area with none of the drama you get by the Seawall. Bait shop across the street, and a block away a great little store that even sells fresh shrimp. The place was well appointed, has everything you’ll need. Highly recommended.

First- you can hear and see the ocean from the property which makes the property location amazing. Communication was clear and helpful throughout the stay which was so helpful. The house has cosmetic issues like broken drawers, old king size bed that makes for a rough night of sleep, bathroom drains that don’t work, and kitchen countertop and drawer issues. Honestly if the bed was replaced - the location would be enough for me to stay again.

Beach Soccer Fun

My daughter's soccer team play in the Beach tournament and this condo meet all our needs. It had a few details that needed to be addressed in the kitchen but otherwise was great.

Great location

We truly enjoyed our stay at Jamaica beach. The neighborhood is quiet, but you are still close enough, about 15 minutes drive, to Galveston. You see the beach from all the balconies, dining room and bedrooms. The house is very spacious, just make sure you are ok with climbing stairs. The walk to the beach is only 1 minute, which makes it helpful if you forgot something or want to take a quick break from the sun. We felt comfortable and safe leaving our chairs and beach toys when going back to the house for lunch or breaks.

Great little house, for a few people or a small family. The best part was the private beach access so even in the height of the busy season the beach was not crowded.

Exactly As Advertised

We really enjoyed our short stay near the beach. It was an easy 2min walk down to the beach. The property was as described and our only issue was that we couldn’t get the TV to work. We did call the property management company and they gave us some suggestions, but we ended up just connecting to my laptop to stream movies. It wasn’t really a big deal since we don’t watch a lot of TV. The kitchen is a bit dated, but they say that in the description so we expected it. We loved that we could walk to the Seven Seas grocery store for coffee and snacks and the local restaurants were pretty good, too. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay!

Nice place close to the beach

We stayed here for 3 nights to enjoy Jamica Beach. The place has everything you would need for a beach trip and is really close to the beach. Not even a 3 minute walk. Would definitely rent again.

Comfortable Stay

The townhouse was very clean and comfortable and close to the beach. We picked this location because cars can’t drive on that portion of the beach and we were traveling with our 1 year old. We did bring a baby gate to contain him on the top floor, but other than that it was a good space for a little one.

Perfect location!

We walked out the back door and swam in the ocean everyday from the backyard! Location location location. The birds were beautiful. We put our chairs in the water daily and just relaxed making sand castles best family times! Awesome kind neighbors super sweet! Beautiful morning runs on the beach. Ghost crab hunting with flash lights at night and even saw some fireworks during our beach night walks. Incredible stay at this awesome location. Book it. So fun! Great stay! :-)

Great location for the price!

The location of this townhome was amazing! The beach is about a three-minute walk and wasn't crowded at all even for a high-traffic weekend (Father's Day). I loved being able to see the ocean from the deck. It's very cute and clean, and the beds were comfortable. We did wish there were a table outside for eating (even a small one for holding water/drink glasses!), and the TV was incredibly difficult to use -- four remotes and no instructions. While we weren't there to watch TV, it would have been nice during the afternoon between beach visits. Maybe there wasn't even cable? Kitchen is adequately supplied, but a cutting board and working can opener would be useful for a beach house.

No what we expect.

This weekend I message the property manager more than my family in a week. About the storage room with rats and rats poop (I sent pictures).The fridge is all rusty and one side. The wifi very unstable.The tv didn't work until somebody came to work on it and we work on sound after. The main bedroom doesn't have curtains so the mornings were to early for a vacation. The grill was clean so we decided to eat outside but something changed our minds, was the foul smell coming from the concrete floor under the house staircase, some water was coming out and smell terrible. So before we left and checked the binder with the rules and two hours after I received an email with differents clean up instructions. We invited our friends to stay with us and wasn't what we expect.
