My wife, daughter and I just finished staying at this cabin for 4 days in the end of July. The cabin and property were extremely clean and well taken care of. It is a very relaxing place and we enjoyed our time here. I am an avid fisherman and was thrilled by the great fishing nearby. The Cabin is situated along the Cobbosseeconte stream which is a great bass fishery. I spent most of my time fishing in the town of Gardiner where the Cobbosseecontee meets the Kennebec river because I was told that there were Stiped Bass in the area. I fished a total of around 7 hours spread over 3 days and I caught: Striped Bass, Largemouth Bass, Smallmouth Bass, Crappie, White Perch, Yellow Perch, Bluegill, Pumpkinseeds, and an eel. The diversity of the fishery was really unique and exciting. The cabin's owners were extremely friendly, helped us transport our stuff with their motor boat, and responded quickly to any questions or needs we had. The town of Gardiner was nice and liked exploring the restaurants and downtown area. The reason I rated it 4 stars is because there were two things that we wished we could change. The biggest issue for us was that the cabin has non-potable running water. The owners provided tons of free clean drinking water which was wonderful but anything that came out of a pipe was from the river. We love to tent-camp, hike, and just be outside so getting dirty doesn't bother us but for the nightly rate, I wanted to feel clean when I got out of the shower. We used the jugs of water that the owners supplied to brush our teeth, wash our hands, and rinse our dishes. You could also hear the highway a little bit sometimes but that didn't really bother us. All in all it was a nice place to stay for several days before we headed to Cape Cod to go camping.
