The Painted Pony Cottage at LegUp Stables. Vacation with a Horse!

The Painted Pony Cottage at Leg Up Stables is located on a 300 acre horse farm in the heart of the beautiful Genesee Valley. The cottage offers charming amenities to make your equine inspired stay truly unique including a tack room and a remodeled kitchen. The cottage is perfect for those wishing to travel with their horses or those interested in being immersed in a horse's experience. Our horse farm provides riding lessons all year long. We have facilities to ride inside and outside in all weather conditions. Ask about a guided tour of Leg Up Stables which is home to nearly 80 horses.

The Cottage:
The Painted Pony Cottage at Leg Up Stables is a one-bedroom home that has recently been remodeled and offers a private cozy and comfortable place to stay. The cottage includes a full eat-in kitchen, a comfortable living room, and a bedroom with a queen bed and bunk beds. An air mattress is available for additional sleeping arrangements in the living room. The Cottage has parking for two cars and a horse trailer. We have a fire pit in out expansive lawn and lots of areas to run around.

This cottage is charming and quiet! Just lovely, bed was very comfortable and we were greeted with fresh flowers and a basket of fresh veggies which was such a welcoming touch! Located on a beautiful horse farm, very quiet and great for relaxing! Well appointed home and kitchen had everything we needed to eat in during a busy weekend competing at a local horseshow.

It is a wonderful, peaceful place to stay. Our dogs are very much at home with large areas to explore. The horses and the visitors are always friendly. The owners are welcoming and gladly provide insights into the area. We have visited there many times and will be back.

The cottage was perfect for our stay for dropping our child off at Suny Geneseo. We stayed 2-nights, my wife and younger child took a riding lesson with Kim, who was great. We explored the property during the day, getting to see all the horses and and very much enjoyed the night sky. We also did a quick trip to Letchworth State Park to view the upper and middle falls. Had lunch on Conesus Lake, only a 10-minute drive. We would definitely stay at the cottage again.

This property was exactly as described. You are right on the stable grounds. It was a comfortable stay for my husband, son and I for move-in day. Our 2 dogs loved exploring the stable grounds on walks and there was plenty of room for everyone. We will be returning.

The brief review: clean, perfect size for 2 adults, 2 teens, and 2 dogs, great central location between many western New York attractions, and quiet!The longer review: This was our 4th VRBO farm stay, and we love the animals. This is a working training facility with students regularly on and off the property. Everyone we interacted with was friendly. However, given that we mostly did sightseeing during the day, we didn't see many students. It was very quiet at night.The cottage was the perfect size for our 2 adults, 2 older teens, and 2 medium-sized dogs. We had 2 crates set up in our room for our dogs to use for relaxing/sleeping and still had plenty of room.The cottage was clean, the beds were comfortable, and in 90 degree heat, the window A/C unit did a great job of keeping the cottage comfortable. We didn't have as much opportunity to interact with the owners this time as with other stays, but Kim was very friendly and helpful with giving us local attraction ideas. We took her up on most of them.The location was also centrally situated for our tour of western New York. We never drove more than 1.75 hours to Niagara Falls, Eternal Flame Falls, Watkins-Glen, Ithaca Falls and Taughannock Falls. We also visited Chimney Bluffs (on Lake Ontario), sought out views of Lake Erie and visited the Port Byron Old Erie Canal Heritage Park and the National Warplane Museum. If you are familiar with farm life, we highly recommend the Painted Pony Cottage!

Beautiful horses and peaceful mornings. The cottage was charming and had everything you'd need plus some helpful extras like tea, keurig, outdoor chairs, dog treats, etc...Our dog loved the horses and we fell in love with feeding the baby horses and stallions. Feeding, grooming and riding the horses with Kim and her daughter was a highlight of the trip. We learned some much and felt safe, very enjoyable.Set in the perfect location we easily enjoyed hikes at Letchworth during the day then dinner by the water in the evening.Highly recommend...

A Charming VRBO Getaway Amidst Nature's Beauty

My partner Alessandro and I recently stayed at this unique VRBO, nestled on 250 acres of stunning land with over 90 horses. The property, which was once the farm's office, has been converted into a cozy retreat.While my partner, a hotel enthusiast, affectionately referred to it as a "granny flat," I adored the quaint charm and character of the place. The horses were an added bonus – I loved watching them roam freely, while my partner preferred to observe from a distance, peeking out the side door.The house has all the necessary amenities, making our stay comfortable and convenient. We had a wonderful stay at Leg Up Stables. Everything was just how it was described. The cottage was clean and had all the items we needed. Entering and contact with the owner was smooth and easy. It was the perfect location for us to visit Letchworth State Park and an hour-and-a-half trip to Watkins Glen. Thank you!

Beautiful location, private cozy cottage

Cozy cottage within a large horse farm. Surrounding area of gently rolling hills and pristine farms. Directions and contactless access were flawless. Cottage as depicted. Bedroom was very clean. Wonderfully easy access for senior dog, and we greatly enjoyed the wide expanse of yard and places to walk. So enjoyable to view all the horses on the property! Host was responsive and provided a detailed guide and some fresh vegetables to enjoy. I imagine this cottage would especially be a dream place to stay for someone with a horse in tow! We just would have appreciated window coverings - blinds or shades - to block views from the outside at night. There were people coming and going at night, accessing barns. All-in-all, a delightful stay!

PERFECT!

Myself along with 2 friends chose this place because it was dog friendly with plans of hiking at Letchworth State Park. The cottage was absolutely perfect and everything it said it would be. It was clean and had everthing we needed for an amazing trip. The fact that it is on a horse farm made it even better. There was so much land for walking the dogs and they loved the horses as well. It was great waking up and looking at horses out of your bedroom window and seeing these majestic beings We took advantage of the opportunity to take a lesson and ride. What an experience! I cant say enough good things about this place. Thank you Alexandria and Kim for making this a truly blessed trip.
