Nestled on the absolute waterfront, York Cove Cottage 1870 is a lovingly restored historic gem, offering breathtaking views of York Cove and the Tamar River in Northern Tasmania. Seamlessly blending vintage charm with modern comforts, creating a relaxed seaside retreat.

With 4 luxurious bedrooms, all offering water views, the cottage invites you to unwind on the expansive deck while soaking in the ever-changing waterfront scenery.

Toast marshmallows at the fire pit under starry skies and reflect on your adventures, beaches, MTB trails, skydiving, wineries, historic sites, lavender farms, Seahorse and Platypus World, Beaconsfield Mine and more.
The fairy penguins at Low Head are a must see.

Wake to the soothing sound of the seagulls, stroll to the wharf to fish, or explore the reserve and waterfront path to Low Head.
Bikes and fishing gear are provided for your enjoyment.

We absolutely loved our stay at this very warm, inviting & well-equipped house. The kitchen had everything you needed, great coffee machine, wine glasses, every utensil needed. Appliances all easy to use. We used the deck all the time & fireplace each night. It was so lovely to sit & look at the stunning view & watch the stars at night. We slept with the window open to wake up to the beautiful river views. Your garden is so pretty. We ate at the pub across the road each night, which has a huge menu. We also used the bikes each day & rode along the river to the lighthouse & had swims in what I can describe as very refreshing crystal clear water. We didn't want to leave & will be back to stay at your amazing house.

Such a wonderful place to make happy family memories!

I booked this trip as a family getaway for my husband, his siblings, his mum, myself and our son as hubby was celebrating his 50th birthday. Although hubby, our son and I have travelled to Tassie scores of times over the past 25 years, most of the rest of the group had not been to Tasmania so there was a lot of pressure on me to have picked a property that suited everyone from 16 to 80 years of age! Well, we could have not been happier with our choice. It was the most cosy, well presented cottage with amazing views and literally footsteps from the main street shops and a great pub (with Gin tasting room) immediately across the street. Even though we visited during a heatwave, the nights were cool enough to have the fire pit going so we could sit outside and enjoy the stars. The bonus was the group of girls at the house immediately next door were also celebrating a 50th birthday so we chatted and shared cake & candles! The beds were super comfy (& I'm fussy), the rooms tastefully decorated and the linen top notch! Crisp white sheets and fluffy Sheridan towels! Plus there was just the most amazing cottage garden (we are a family of gardeners) full of succulents, the most beautiful geraniums and tomatoes for our breakfast. Only things to note with a bigger party; there is only 1 shower so just be organised with timing (another loo available so no issue there) and the dining room is too tight for 8, but we spent our time outside on the deck anyway. Still10/10!

Beautiful Cottage

We visited the area for a family wedding and had the most beautiful stay in Georgetown. The house is in the perfect location to shops and we enjoyed the bikes on offer to explore the area. The beds were so comfortable and the house was great for our family group. Janmaree was a great host and always on hand to answer questions and offer local tips!

This house was perfect. Great house, location and gardens. The deck overlooked the grasslands and water. So relaxing. The bed were comfortable which is not always the case. Simply stunning

What a gorgeous cottage right on the river. Plenty of room for our group of 6 adults. Very comfortable with lots of thoughtful touches. Janmaree is very helpful with great tips on where to go and where to eat. We would definitely come back to York Cottage.

Wonderful location, beautiful house.

Loved being able to see the boats on the water, close to everything. Had dinner at the pier hotel, right across from the house. The house itself had a good feel to it, with each room having something different to it almost quirky. Host was great with communication and happy to help with any queries or to give a recommendation.

A beautiful house

When we first walked into this beautiful house we were amazed as to how beautifully decorated it was! Everything that we could wish for was there, the 3 main bedrooms that we slept in was super duper comfortable and we loved all the finishing touches. We pretty much lived out on the deck as the views were amazing and it was so peaceful and serene. Our host was absolutely exceptional with his communication, particularly when answering all of my questions!! It was just what we needed, a relaxing getaway in beautiful surroundings. Thank you!
