We loved our stay at this hotel. Very walkable area, restaurants and bars are very close. Loved the rooftop bar across the road. Staff were super friendly and helpful, and the pool was lovely and refreshing. Such a historical, classic hotel.

A gem of a hotel

We had the most amazing stay in Penang. The hotel is very well situated so close to everything we wanted to do and see. The pool was especially welcoming after being out and about! Couldn’t fault the staff - they were ALL fantastic.

Nice hotel, well located.

This is a very good hotel well located in the heart of Georgetown, close to all the sites. We did not find it noisy as some have commented. It is a heritage property which has its great charms and also some limitations. The rooms are comfortable with air-conditioning, but quite small. There is a very welcome pool. And the restaurant provides a decent breakfast. There are not many places to sit together as a family in the evenings, as the pool area is locked at 7pm.

Fantastic stay in George Town at the beautiful Jeng Keng Hotel . The staff , especially Ian were so helpful , polite , informative and fun! We used the pool every afternoon an oasis of calm after the business and heat of the city. Everywhere was clean and tidy and the rooms were spotless . We enjoyed the breakfasts immensely , im sorry I don’t have the main guy in the cafes name but he was so great at explaining the ingredients of the foods being gluten intolerant . Thanks so much - we adored it!

Wonderful hotel, great staff

Great heritage hotel in a brilliant position. Rooms are comfortable, tea and coffee, ventilation, good bathroom, and great bed. The general ambience is wonderful and you can sit just outside soaking up the sunshine and history while having a drink. There's a swimming pool, which we used everyday and we decided to eat our breakfast outside although there is an aircon restaurant attached to the hotel. The only slight downside is some nights there was very loud music on until the early hours of the next morning as penang must of relaxed it's laws. But the best thing about the hotel are the staff... Especially Yo who is amazing and so kind and Harry Potter who was very caring and professional. Thankyou to all the staff. On another note you can get very cheap local buses all over the island, the hotel can arrange a taxi and the fare from the airport is now fixed so it's easy for transportation. There's proper and very good street food if you turn left from the hotel to the next block and there's loads of trendy western places too.
