For a budget hotel, this place was very clean, modern and had good service. City center is a 15 walk away so this is a really good deal and a good place to stay if you want to save some dollars.

I chose this place due to its proximity to the train station. The walk to the town wasn’t so bad at 20 minutes walk. The place looks new and nicely decorated. There were a few “bad” things about this place: # 1 : there was no luggage room. You had to leave whatever luggage that you don’t want to carry around to -1 locker room to which you had to pay € 2.00 each. We had to € 4.00 total as one of the luggage wouldn’t fit and left it with the front desk. # 2 : the garbage in the bathroom was full upon coming into the room. Also, the bathroom could have been cleaner especially the shower.

Nice shower, comfortable bed, quiet room. Cashless place, I would prefer if they would accept cash for coffee or the bar. I should have read everything and will in the future!

A great place to stay.
We only needed a base to get a not Ghent. A lovely comfortable entrance area, lots of comfy a quiet spaces, a clean and good looking place. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was basic but that was expected. It was clean, smart and minimal. No wardrobe, but who cares for a few days. Station 5 minute walk away, 5 minute train into Ghent central station. We were really impressed by the place

3 days of happy stays!
Great location! Near the train stop and close to the city. Everything is within walking distance. Staff is very helpful and nice. Would stay here again. Had a 3 night stay. Laundry facilities too😊

Looks like a warehouse district being revitalized. Room cleaning came early the first few days then stopped, We have to ask for service after a long day out. Then the hotel started the noisy parties for the weekend and it was booming.

I thought that the parking charges were a rip off & made life hard for tourists visiting Ghent by car. It was 18 Euros to park in the hotel car park overnight & you could only park on the roads nearby for 4 hours at a time. I had to park my car 2 miles away overnight to get free parking. I wasted an hour walking there & back.

The staff was very kind and helpful. The cleaning was overall ok, but some days it wasn't properly done. And the area around the hotel felt a bit unsafe at times.

Excellent budget hotel! Convenient location and had everything that we needed. I think that other reviews may not have considered the fact that this is a budget hotel so the room is essentially just a bed and a bathroom, but that was all we needed for our travels. It was clean and the staff were friendly and helpful!

Good for a one night stay.
Staff were very friendly and helpful. No on site restaurant - 10 min walk to find somewhere to eat. Buffet breakfast was very good. Bedroom was TINY! Double bed against the wall. Comfortable enough. Just enough room to walk down the side snd across the end. Bathroom also very compact but reasonable size shower. Parking was secure underground. Good location. 15-20 mins walk into centre ( less if you walk fast rather than stroll!) Bus maybe 5 mins from hotel.

the idea to pay for the luggage storage is absolutely despicable, even if it's only 2€ it is absolutely wrong. the hotel is quite new and located a few minutes away from the train station, close to the historical centre as well. overall really expensive as for budget hotel

Okay location, comfortable enough but small
First time at IBIS Budget. This hotel is situated about 15 minutes walk from the centre in the Dampoort. Dark route at night along canal to the hotel. Its not well lit. The room was very small, beds comfy and clean. Our window was sealed shut but there is air con and heating system. Still, we would have prefered fresh air. Only 3 hangers for our clothes, kept clothes in luggage case which was not ideal. No storage for clothes. Very small space, would not suit family in our particular room. No coffee or tea making facilities. Cleaners were available daily but we didn't require them. Nice hot shower but gap at bottom ensured our floor was submerged in water everytime we used it. Breakfast available at 10euro which I feel is very expensive. We found fresh pastries and salads etc at Carrefour supermarket across the road slightly. It's handy that Dampoort station is 5 minutes away where you can take trains or buses. Good prices for the train.

Property is fine and usually convenient except for the current roadworks which means a big loop is necessary to get there by car. Check in process is a disaster. Takes far too long even if people already have bookings. Staff opened a second checkin station but then asked people further back in the queue to checkin first. Very frustrating for many of us already in the queue.
