Located on the best spot in Goderich. It's an old building (circa 1870 I believe). Well maintained. We've got the best location of the room (209), right in the corner and facing the Courthouse. Don't expect fancy hotel, but it's enough for two of us to stay comfortable.

We really appreciated the old charm of the area and the building. Staying in The centre of old town is a real treat!! Many options for dining, theatre, walking to the water is a good hike through some beautiful neighbourhoods.

Lots of construction going but hotel itself was good. I’ve been there several times when working in the area and will continue to come back. A nice restaurant connected to it. Staff are friendly. It’s clean and safe.

The room was in very poor shape. Dresser drawer was broken, lamp was ripped and there was obvious mildew and/or mould at the top of the shower. The ice machine in the hallway next door was extremely noisy throughout the night. There was no evening staff on duty (other than the bartender/waiter in the attached bar). Staff the next morning was very accommodating and moved us to a different room and gave a discount on our final bill for the first night. Certainly appreciated.

Booked this hotel according to pictures and some reviews. It was not to my satisfaction. The hotel itself indeed is needing upgrades. Both common areas and rooms. Staff was not friendly and did not make you feel welcome. Location was great. For what we were doing. Will not recommend this hotel.

The staff and service at bar was exceptional with people staying late to serve us. However, the property is tired and needs new carpets up the main staircase to restore the building's grandness. Overall, the rooms are tired and while clean-ish the furniture and walls are banged up and the room carpeting needs to be replaced - we wore our flipflops in the room.

Whole building needs lot of work. Even the stair rails are scary. Likely a 2 star on a very nice day. Shower grout in filthy state. Only good thing is great location..in town square. Not recommended.
