"It was our first time to visit Aso and we had no idea where to stay. But coincidentally we found out this place and it was the highlight of our trip. The place is located in Minami Aso, southern part of Aso and features stargazing. They own a planetarium, private observatory and large garden to observe stars. "The Fairfield by Marriott in Aso is a very comfortable hotel like the Fairfield in Nikko where my wife and I staid before. The rooms are clean, modern and with a lot of light coming in through a big window; comfortable enough that on a rainy day we decided to stay in the room almost all day. Personnel at the reception is very friendly and helpful.The restaurant selection in the area is not the greatest but there is a Lawson Station shop nearby. Additionally the hotel offers free coffee, tea etc. and sells some food items which can be heated in microwaves if necessary. The Fairfield is located near the local train station and has sufficient parking space if you come by car. "
