Wedding Weekend in Gold Beach.
This house does accommodate a large group (6-12) fairly well. Lots of room and good gathering areas. However, there is a lot of “stuff” everywhere. Too many couches and chairs in the living room. People stumble around. The place need some TLC. Outdated and minor repairs need throughout the whole house. Lawn chairs around a formal dinning room table. Is odd. Most of towel rods are falling out of the wall. All the fan switch knobs are missing. Refrigerator handle is busted off. Three windows are broken. Just to mention a few things. Hot tub is in need of service and cleaning. No actual view of the water unless you go upstairs and stand in the corner window. A little shrub and tree trimming would give an incredible view from the main floor deck and upstairs If monies where put back into the place for updates and repairs , it would be a great price. As it sits now, this place is over priced by 50%.

Enjoyable stay in a great location
This house was just right for my family. Check-in was easy and the host, Aimee, was responsive to my questions. The home was fully equipped with everything we needed. The furniture was outdated, however, it was very comfortable. I enjoy having windows open as I like a breeze in the house, however, very few windows had screens on them. I would recommend this house, especially for groups.

House in general worked out well for us. A few of the dimmer knobs for light s or fans were missing as well as a couple of key window screens but all in all the house was pretty good. Kitchen was very well equipped, all the bed reports were comfortable. Had an enjoyable stay for four adults and four kids.

Good Stay
This was a nice house with a well equipped kitchen, lots of bed options and good amenities. The hot tub was great and we really enjoyed sitting out on the deck. The check in/check out process is a bit unusual as you have to call the owner and they do not use the lockbox on the door, but the owner is perfectly nice so it didn't bother us. We absolutely LOVED the jetboat rides up the river and found a couple nice restaurants in the area. Overall, a nice stay. :-)

Perfect family vacation house
11 of us stayed for a 4-day long family vacation, and it was just perfect. The home is spacious, was very clean, and had everything we needed to feel at home. Aimee was very responsive and great to rent from. We'll definitely be coming back!

The property is in need of an overhaul. The furnishings in the dining and living room are old and uncomfortable, with several of the recliners no longer functioning, and and the cane backing of the dining room chairs blown out. The dining chairs are also quite low, and on wheels, which made it difficult for some of the members of our party to get in and out of them easily. The master bedroom has a king and an queen, and can sleep 4, but the doors have been removed from the bathroom and the toilet room, making it very awkward to share the space. There is a toilet room down the hall, but using that was disturbing to the people sleeping on the upstairs landing. If you are sensitive to chemical smells, this is not the property for you. The scented garbage bags and cleaning products create a miasma in the house which affected several of our group. Yay Benadryl!

Just what we needed for our family
Enjoyed the location and the hot tub. The house is in rather bad disrepair, towel holders hanging off the wall, door conspicuously missing from master bathroom, thick dust on shelving and ceiling fans and under the couch (well, much more than dust down there), crazy stains on the carpeting. Actually, it was so bad I didn't worry at all about my young kids damaging or dirtying the house, so in this case it was fine for me. I did question what the rather high cleaning fee was used for though. Had I been here as an adult vacation with just my wife I would have been more disappointed with these things, but this was the perfect place for this particular family trip.

House is not particularly kid friendly and has very steep stairs to get in and also inside. Older adults have trouble getting in and out. The kitchen could use some better fry pans. Overall it was fine and we enjoyed our stay. It is easy to get to the beach.

Good location on OR south coast
The property was in a good location for our family reunion on the south coast of Oregon. beautiful scenery along Boardman Scenic drive south to Brookings. Open kitchen was nice. Hot tub was a bonus. It needs some TLC; refrigerator door handle was off, lamp missing a light bulb, furniture needs to be replaced i.e. better kitchen chairs, futon upstairs is in need of repair when pulled out for sleeping.

It was a nice place to stay. Was not expecting it to be as dated as it was, and was confused why there weren't doors on the master bedroom's bathroom. Kitchen was huge but definitely need an upgrade on pots and pans. The view from the deck was nice, you could see the ocean.

the owner changed check in and check out times, so I had to contact everyone and give them the new time,so we lost two hours at the house. One bed was broken and unusable so two people had to sleep on the floor..Overall the maintenance on the house was very poor..I have used VRBO many times and had no problems but this place has more than I want to mention.. gold beach is great tho..have been there many times.always enjoy it..

This house worked well for us. We fished at 5 Star Charters and this home was close to the dock. Comfy beds, large kitchen, nice little back yard , even deer walking through. Wi-Fi was solid.

Older home but very big for guests to stay. The beds were very nice and comfortable. Great location on a hill with view of ocean. One of the main reasons we decided to stay there was the hot tub with the view. The hot tube was broken. The host offered $50 for the inconvenience. That was a very nice offer but doesn’t seem like enough. We stayed to nights and $100 seems more reasonable. Overall very nice stay! Thank you Aimee!

Communication was great, check out was simple and easy which was a huge relief with our busy group. Could not get the DVD player to work and the internet had a very poor signal in the mane living space (wasn't a huge issue for us). Would definitely rent again.

Décor is a little dated, but we were not there to see the inside of the house. Owner reached out to see if we needed anything- thought that was an extra nice touch.

Spacious place with hot tub near the beach
My extended family and I had a good time staying at the flip-flop inn, and the location was great! The property feels very private and quiet, which made it a great calming place to relax. The walk to the beach was easy as promised, and the hot tub was a fun feature as well! We enjoyed several long walks along the beach and through the cute town of Gold Beach to the Rogue River. The host was very gracious and made sure we had all the information we needed for a great stay. The only negative part of our stay was the lack of cleanliness of the house -- it seems the host lives far away and hires a cleaning team to come in, so even though she really tries her best to ensure a clean space, the cleaning team is not holding up their end of the deal. Overall we were still able to enjoy staying there, but there were some inconveniences of dishes having been put away dirty, dirty floors, cobwebs and dust in several areas, and general dinginess. Again the host was very kind and tried her best to communicate with us and apologize, and overall we did have a good stay in this spacious and quiet home.

Well appointed home, a GREAT PLACE to stay!

We enjoyed staying at this property. There were plenty of beds and appreciated the large couch and seating in dining/kitchen. Hot tub was fun. Only complaints are that the master bedroom needs a door on the bathroom and the outside bushes need a trim as they are beginning to block the view. Loved our stay!

We are a group of 10 (3 families) that stayed in this house. This was our second house in our Oregon coast 8 day vacation. This house gave us the room & amenities that our first house did not provide. Great house to spend our last three nights! Room to veg out & plenty of kitchen supplies to cook. They even provide beach towels for the beach or hot tub.

What a fantastic property! Very nice and quiet location. We had been planning on this getaway for quite some time and we were not disappointed in the accommodations! The house is very large and spacious with plenty of room for our family with beautiful views of the sunset over the ocean. The kitchen was well stocked with cooking items. Our family would like to thank Aimee and Wade for the courteous and friendly service we received! I would highly recommend this property and owners to anyone looking; it was a FANTASTIC stay at a great price!

The Flip Flop house was perfect for our family to be together.
We rented the Flip Flop house to celebrate my 50th birthday. The house was very roomy and had that welcoming feeling. The kids loved the hot tub. We had meals together for every meal and the kitchen table was perfect for gathering.

The coutnertops were not wiped, kitchen table sticky, dusty, there were no bath towels, or body soap, no dish soap, coffee pot broken they brought a new coffee pot but did not fit well. Hot tub full of sand on the bottom we never used. Sad because house has a great floor plan but attention to detail is not there and very much LACKING.

You were a last minute booking so to speak. Had other guest leave earlier in the day of your arrival. You called me shortly after your arrival about "no towels". They may not have been hung up on the towel bars in all the bathrooms but you were directed to seeing that there were at least a dozen big beach towels hanging up in the walk in closet of the master suite. The coffee pot had been broken by the previous guest and I had alerted you about it and that my caretaker was bringing over another pot. If the place was not clean enough, you could have mentioned that to me on our phone call and I would have had them do more cleaning. Bath soap and dish soap and other supplies were brought to you along with the coffee pot within a few hours of your arrival. Guest are directed to wash off before getting into the hot tub. It is unfortunate that there was some sand in the tub from the previous guest but that should not have prevented you from using the tub, that was your choice. There was not time before your arrival to drain the tub and refill and have it heated up again. I believe your review is somewhat slanted because you did mention how we fixed the issues that we were aware of shortly after your arrival. I personally take great pride in cleanliness and attention to detail. Unfortunately, I am not always at the property to oversee. Many of the reviews over the years have commented on how clean the place is. My apologies if it didn't meet your expectations on this one visit.

There are not "Bath Towels" per say like at a hotel, but there are plenty of big beach towels, after all it is a Vacation Beach House. Additionally, wash rags were brought to you. Unless people have been walking off with my cookware there should have been all sizes and an assortment of cookware. I don't know if you checked all the cabinets, cupboards and big drawers.

The house was large enough for 6 adults and 3 children. Kitchen was awesome! We did find cockroaches. One of the awnings did not work properly so we couldn't really sit on the deck to enjoy the view without being in the sun. Would have been nice if there was an outdoor grill available. All in all it was an ok place to stay.

Glad you found the house spacious enough for your party of nine. That the "kitchen was awesome" is a nice positive remark. Would have appreciated a phone call during your stay about the awning and your finding roaches. The awning is difficult to open and close if you do not know how to do it properly. It is usually tie wrapped closed and is not intended for use. The house is keep very clean and no one else has mentioned seeing roaches. Will be vigilant about any further occurrences of pests. I do not advertise that the house has an outdoor grill. It is regrettable that you only gave the house a 3 star rating and that it was just an "OK place". All other reviews have been 4 and 5 stars and people have raved about what a wonderful place it is to be in.

Beautiful home awesome privacy and near the beach and town. Not sure who takes care of restocking items or checking everything is in order before the next family, but there was no trash bags, a chair had one of it"s wheels broken there was two wet blankets in the dryer, screen door was ripped. Minor things, but overall great place!

Spacious house close to the beach
This is a great house with a lot of space, a hot tub and the owner allows pets! The kitchen is well equipped and spacious. The beds were comfortable - plenty of extra blankets and pillows. The owner had a lot of beach towels available too. It's an easy 1/4 mile walk to the beach where you can see seals, dolphins, build with driftwood and hunt for sea glass. Double D's serves us a great breakfast and lunch. Friendly service and big portions.
