This hotel is so outdated, tired and uncomfortable. Pay a little extra and stay elsewhere. Checkout is 10am, the 80’s decor has never been updated, the fridges are noisy, the bed uncomfortable, and there is no powerpoint to charge your phone. Also, the car park is lower than 2 metres, which is too low for most SUVs. Give it a miss. Quest should buy it and do it up.

I thought the room was well equiped, reasonably priced, spacious and having a balcony was nice. Our King bed was comfortable and the room had old style charm with a lot of wooden cabinetry and greenstone floor/ wall tiles. Very clean, staff friendly and helpful. We enjoyed our stay at the Oaks Hotel.

The room itself was fine. The problem was I stayed for two nights, the first with my partner, and the second with my daughter. I asked for a sofa bed for the second night and was told it was going to cost $59. Slight rip off.

The Oaks is old and tired but the rooms are large, clean and comfortable. Spacious bathrooms and a spa. The only negative was booking through wotif. I will never do that again as they were totally inflexible and when I wanted to lengthen my stay by 1 night by getting their 2 nights earlier and leaving a day earlier they refused to assist at all and refused me to refund me a single cent. I therefore booked my first 2 nights directly through another hotel. I will therefore b never book through wotif a gain. What a terrible rip off it is. I have referred the matter to Fair Trading so hopefully I will ultimately get some money back.

Do yourself a favour - stay here
I absolutely loved this property. The staff were beyond friendly and helpful at all times, the room with views toward the ocean were incredible. The rooms are a great size with loads of amenities. If you want TV or on demand, this is the place they have heaps of channels and movies all free. The only slight criticism I would have, and that could will be a personal choice, I found the bed a little soft, I like more firm mattress. But that is literally the only thing that I can say that is not five star.

We were told that we could have a late checkout, only to be called and woken 5 minutes before 11am and told we have 5 minutes to vacate. Then we were charged a late fee!!!

The bathrooms were beautiful. Great spa, great shower. PowerPoint locations extremely inconvenient especially for elderly (right on the bottom of the ground and under objects that are hard to reach and need moving). Also our rooms weren’t cleaned on day two, our towels weren’t replaced we had to ask for new towels. And for ten minutes at approx 8pm last night there was plumbing noise and drill noise above our head. The view was beautiful and so was the room. The spa bath has a drip that needs a plumber. Needs maintenance and consideration for power usage. Otherwise enjoyable stay

Check in staff were lovely. Dining options very limited within easy walking distance. The one recommended around the corner was very ordinary, bar staff would rather talk and laugh constantly with a few regulars than give us any hospitality. One shabby drink and then left. TV in room wouldn't tune in, mould a big problem in the bathroom.

Great amenities highly recommend. Special Thankyou to Lokesh who kindly gave us his car spot as there was no parking spots left due to fireworks in Gold Coast. He generously offered his car park as I have young children. Best customer service!

A great spot on the highway, just next to the tram station. Staff were friendly, helpful and made check-in and check-out very easy. Bed was soft and comfortable and the bathrooms were more than suitable. Very easy to change any bookings with some great communication. Only downside was that the pool wasn’t open. Will be staying again in the future.

Nice and clean. Only fault was I was on the 3rd floor facing the road so it was quite noisey especially on the Friday night. Also got woken up by bins being emptied at 5am. Other than that it was a great place to stay.

Fantastic views. We almost wasted 2 nights elsewhere on the Gold Coast. THIS IS THE PLACE TO BE. Highrise building with a self-sufficient unit including a washer-dryer and a jacuzzi. Has a private balcony with astonishing views.
