The James H. Doyle House was designated a Granbury Historical Landmark by the City of Granbury Historic Commission November 2, 1999. The home is one of the few remaining large homes built in Granbury before 1900 still here

The "Captain's House" - built back in 1875, located in historic district, and just steps from the square!

A beautiful suite is located upstairs with private entrance and balcony - overlooking Lake Granbury. Perfect spot for couples, solo adventurers, and business travelers.

Wow! Beautifully furnished and very comfortable. Close to downtown Granbury. Incredible view of the lake! Too cold to enjoy the firepit but maybe next time. Really enjoyed our stay!

Perfect Getaway

My daughter and I chose the Captain's House because of the history and beauty of the house, the location with the lake view and within walking distance of the Granbury Square, and the moderate price. We also had, with the Mary Kate room, access to a private entrance and a sitting porch. This property has just about everything!

Perfect Christmas Shopping Weekend

My wife and I just spent a fantastic weekend in the Mary Kate Doyle Suite enjoying a perfect Christmas shopping weekend in Granbury. The owners Tony and Tina are absolutely the greatest hosts and their home is beautifully restored. The Mary Kate Doyle Suite is the stunning and our view of sunrise over the lake Sunday morning was spectacular! The location is great, only a 5 minute walk to the historic square where we spent the day shopping and eating. We are already planning on our return visit this spring. Thank you so much Tony and Tina for a great weekend.

Lakeside at Grandbury

The captains house was absolutely gorgeous and very well maintained. We stayed in the Mary Kate suite and we're not disappointed. The room was very spacious and offered plenty of views of the lake. Our favorite part staying here was enjoying a morning coffee on the balcony while catching the light breeze and views of the water. Our host Tina was serious about our privacy which was absolutely the best. She is very kind, sweet and caring. Exactly the personality you want to meet at a B&B.

WE WILL RETURN!!!

What a wonderful property and location overlooking Lake Granbury. The home has been beautifully restored and the Mary Kate Doyle Suite was awesome! The pictures don't do it justice. Wonderfully furnished bedroom with the most comfortable bed, full kitchen with drinks in the refrigerator, Keurig coffee machine, and continental breakfast. The warm Scones were amazing! The private balcony overlooking the lake was a perfect spot to enjoy your coffee and breakfast. There are also several spots down by the shore to relax and enjoy the cool breeze off the lake which we did with a glass of wine. The house is literally two blocks from the town square with wonderful shopping and restaurants. Now to the best part of our stay, Tina and Tony! Tina greeted us upon our arrival and gave us a tour and the history of the house. She then took us to our room and showed us all of the amenities. She asked us if we had made any dining plans and offered suggestions for several of the restaurants where we eventually dined, they were all wonderful! We had the pleasure of having several conversations with her and enjoyed her company immensely! Sadly we only had the pleasure of meeting Tony the morning of our departure but he made a great impression on us. We can't wait to return in the near future!

Beautiful home in the perfect location

We loved our time in the Mary Kate Doyle suite. The home was a beautiful Victorian house with a large, private suite with outside access. It was a short walk from the city square with its great shops and restaurants, and was also located right on the lake with an excellent view from the balcony. We definitely hope to come back soon.
