Richview on Morrison Lake, Gravenhurst - Muskoka

Located at the gateway to Muskoka, the cottage is less than a two-hour drive from Toronto. Richview is in a calm bay on Morrison Lake with 110 feet of lake frontage, faces east and is under an acre in size. It has a large level lawn that leads all the way to the sandy shoreline with a shallow waterfront; perfect for children to play and be safe. Swimming or fishing from your dock is a relaxing way to spend an afternoon.

The beach runs the full width of the property, a 110 feet of sand, perfect for building sandcastles on.

Enjoy exploring the lake by kayak, canoe or paddleboat. Challenge your friends to a game of horseshoes. Access FREE WIFI internet, play board and card games, and enjoy movies on DVD or Satellite TV. At night, roast marshmallows by the outdoor fire pit - some wood is provided; and best of all, enjoy star-gazing, you can even see the Milky Way on most nights.

Fishing on the lake is good, with large and small mouth bass, perch, muskie and pike. There is room at the dock if you'd like to bring your own boat, the boat launch is at the end of North Morrison Lake Road (1km down the road). But most renters just enjoy fishing right at the end of the dock.

This is an older cottage. It has great access to their dock (down a grassy hill) with a nice fire pit. However the neighbours are very close and a lot of these cottages were undergoing construction so it was noisy. We left a day early due to a power outage that lasted 48 hours. We didn’t know how long it would be out for but this cottage at these rates should be equipped with a generator because without it, you are now camping. No running water. No electricity. The hostess was very organized and tried her best to be helpful. She said they hadn’t had a power outage in the summer in years but when you hear the neighbour’s generator going for hours, I think a generator should be a requirement if you want clients to return. Global warming is here to stay.

Richview Getaway

Three generation of our family really enjoyed our cottage stay. The cottage was well appionted, the access to the lake was easy for all ages and the outdoor space amazing. We only had one rainy day which took us into Gravenhurst for their great famers market; wonderful straberries and corn! Cara was a very attentive host and was quick to respond to any questions we had. Would definetly recommend Richview to other families.

Fabulous Cottage

Immaculate is the first word that comes to mind. Everything was spotless, from the fridge to the bbq. The kitchen is well-stocked, the bed was super comfy and the cottage itself is bright and cozy. And outside - a nice, flat lawn leads down to the water and the dock. So many places to lounge - in sun or shade. Lots of adirondack chairs for lake viewing. The host was very friendly and kept me informed about a minor issue that arose. Very professional. My only issue was that the deck is not safe for toddlers or young children. There are large gaps in the railing that a child could easily fall through. I would have loved to have brought my grandson if the deck was more secure. Other than that, we (my dog and I) had a fabulous week and hope to return next summer.

We had a great experience staying at Richview! Outdoor space was outstanding for our family with 2 little kids. The owner was very responsive to our questions and requests, particularly with regards to check in and check out process (which we really appreciated). Ruhige Auszeit am See

Wer Ruhe sucht ist in Caras "Richview" gut aufgehoben. Für 4 Personen ist das Haus perfekt. Cara ist eine sehr sympathische und zuvorkommende Gastgeberin. Sie ist gut erreichbar und hat den ein oder anderen Tipp für Ausflüge in der Region parat. Das Haus ist einfach aber ausreichend eingerichtet. Am See warten Kanu und Kajaks, sowie ein Tretboot auf die sportlichen Gäste (mit etwas Kondition schafft man die Runde um den ganzen See in gut 2 Stunden). Mücken und Bremsen (Blackflys) sind leider ständige Begleiter. Europäer bevorzugt ;-). Einkaufen kann man hervorragend im Supermarkt in Gravenhurst. Hier bekommt man alles was das Herz begehrt. Allerdings sollte man nichts vergessen, weil je Fahrtrichtung eine halbe Stunde drauf geht. Wir haben die Zeit am Lake Morrison sehr genossen!

We had a very enjoyable stay..it was very clean and cozy..watched the stars come up by the fire and caught some satellites moving across the sky as well Was a short trip into town which is very quaint and easy to navigate..Store owners very friendly Would definitely recommend for anyone wanting a quiet reset in their daily lives

Nice family trip

It was really nice to stay at Richview. The property was exactly what we wanted - quiet, private, waterfront cottage. We enjoyed the beautiful view and had fun fishing. My toddlers also enjoyed playing with the sandplay set that was available there. The only complain I have is the bunkbed I used because it was really uncomfortable due to sagging.

Excellent and relaxing Getaway

We just recently stayed here and we had an amazing time with our family. Cottage was super clean and the property is well maintained. Had all the amenities we required, everything that was in the listing was correct and available. The fishing was excellent as well off the dock. We even caught a couple big bass!! The lake is very clean and the area is quite beautiful. Would definitely recommend this cottage. It would also be good for children to have fun. Thanks very much we really enjoyed our stay!!

Richview on Morrison Lake

Richview is an older cottage surrounded by mature trees that provide lots of shade but also block the sunlight from filtering in through the windows of the cottage and reaching the large expanse of lawn leading to the water. The waterfront was well maintained and the dock provided fishing and swimming opportunities. Kayaks were great fun. Having a fire pit was a nice touch and although we were unable to use the gazebo because the weather was not good, it would be nice to enjoy a meal there.

What a wonderful vacation we spent at rich view. The cottage and property were perfect for our family, with the large front lawn in front of the water as well as all the fun activities the little ones could do like swinging, swimming, fishing and playing in the sand. We also made good use of the canoe, kayaks and pedal boat. Cara and Richard were a delight to interact with and were quick to respond to our inquiries. Highly recommend this place especially for families with young ones.

Great stay

Sitting out on the deck and looking out at the lake was one of the highlights of our stay. Good location on lake and having the kayak, canoe and paddle boat was great. The cottage was old but well equipped and clean. Cara was available when we needed her.

Great, cute cottage on a beautiful safe lake!

The cottage was great! The property is amazing! The mosquito's were terrible while we were there but there was a huge rainstorm the week prior and the water level was very high so that was mother natures fault! Overall great cottage!

Pandemic getaway

Beautiful lake with plenty of fish, and our visit timed nicely with the Fall colours. The lake is a perfect size and we traveled all over with the supplied canoe and kayaks. The house is a typical Ontario cottage complete with a heated outdoor shower. Perfect visit. Thank you Cara and Richard!

Great fall getaway

Our stay at Morrison lake was a lovely, peaceful fall getaway. Everything was clean, lots of supplies, kayaks to use, comfortable beds, beautiful spot on the lake. Cara was always quick to respond to questions and check in and out was easy and quick. We’d definitely be back.

Wonderful Autumn Weekend Getaway at Richview

Richview cottage is comfortable, clean, and well supplied with all we needed and more. A lovely lake-view from the cottage and the large deck which had plenty of comfortable seating. Lots of water toys and life-jackets, and enjoyed use of the kayak. Would love to come back again for a longer stay.

Richview on Morrison Lake is a lovely cottage with several great spots for meals - umbrella and table on the deck, screened in gazebo on the lawn, pic nic table by the water and dining room in the cottage. The lawn was great for badminton and croquet. The kayaks, canoe and paddle boat were also very fun! There is also an outdoor shower which is awesome! The inside of the cottage is very nice too. Three bedrooms, kitchen with all the essentials, dining room, lovely updated bathroom, new flat screen tv and WIFI - this was all a big hit with our family of 5. Thank you Cara and Richard for another super week!
