"The communication was difficult - the owner did phone once, but we were cut off. The property is untidy, pool is green and tennis court has had no use for years. Offered extra rooms, after the sleeping arrangements were terrible, we were then threatened to be billed extra to VRBO, somehow... The rooms had uncomfortable beds and barely a sheet on them, and towels were hard and ancient. Two cots were inadequate for adult use and the room had massive cobwebs everywhere. "It was an absolute gem. Couldn’t fault it, the hostess was very lovely and accommodating, couldn’t have been more helpful. The chateau was beautiful spacious cool with a beautiful garden and pool. It was the perfect end to our holiday, peaceful relaxing quiet and very restorative."

They speak English quite well & we felt grateful as we were in their county speaking limited French. "I'm giving this a 1 but it deserves better. I want people to read this review because others are over rating it. It is very important to know what you are getting. This place is very basic. The bathroom is next to the bed in a small closet. The lock for the door is a small padlock. There was a fecal smell that kept us up at night. The bed was a soft mat type bed not a mattress.
