My wife and I, along with my daughter, son and daughter in law stayed in Evelyn's house for three weeks over the Christmas and New Years holidays.
The property's location is perfect. An easy and safe 15 minute walk to central Chania, where the winter off season means few tourists but still lots of food and shopping options. An hour to the snow capped mountains to the south, and 2 blocks to the water to the north. Plenty of on street parking, since you are far enough outside central Chania to avoid the congestion.
Plenty of food and grocery options nearby, as well as pharmacies, donut shops, coffee shops, crepe shops, etc etc etc.
The house lays out perfectly for a small group. 3 bedrooms upstairs, and the 1 downstairs just outside the front door. All 4 bedrooms have their own bathrooms, with some showers larger than others.
The kitchen was well stocked with everything you need to cook, although we mostly had breakfast at home, and dinner out on the town. Pretty sure it was 2 dinners at home, 19 out on the town at one of the many excellent and affordable restaurants in Chania.
Plenty of support from Evelyn and her sister, but not so much that it felt intrusive. All in all a perfect home for a perfect winter break. If you are trying to decide where to stay in Crete, Evelyn's house is a fantastic choice.
