Perfect sport and perfect staff!
I knew Café Smaragdi from my previous stays in Sifnos as I was used to buy coffee thee in the morning before hitting Sifnos trails. I always appreciated the friendliness of their staff, especially Antonis and Yorgo, who always made me feel welcomed. So, this year, I decided to stay at Hotel Smaragdi and I’m very happy with my choice. Rooms are very nice and clean with good beds and quality toiletries. As always staff is very friendly and always available if you need help. Breakfast is super nice as next to a croissant, orange juice and warm drink, you can pick up one meal of your choice from the breakfast menu. Personally, I loved the acai bowl! Hotel is located in Artemonas just next to the main bus station of Sifnos, which makes it very convenient to move around the island. I loved my stay at Smaragdi Hotel and highly recommend it to anyone!

Stunning hotel with exceptional service!
Beautiful hotel in a beautiful village! The location of the hotel is perfect - regular buses to everywhere on Sifnos are right on its doorstep, and Artemonas itself is utterly charming. Hotel owner, Antonis is relaxed, warm-hearted & friendly & has imbued his staff with the same attitude - they are efficient, considerate, polite & professional. Our hotel room was lovely & cleaned regularly. Would come back here in a heartbeat. They couldn’t do enough for us in every way. An absolute highlight of our trip. Couldn’t recommend it more highly!

Love it and want to come back!
This was the best place we stayed during our month long trip to Greece. We loved the staff and the breakfast! The coffee was also excellent and the location was perfect for exploring the island by foot, bus, and car…. All of which we did during our multi-day stay.

Nice hotel on Sifnos. Basically across the street from the bus terminal - allows easy connections to Ferry terminal, as well as around island. Hotel in style of the white buildings of the Cyclades Islands, and carries that approach inside - gave the room a nice atmosphere. Good sized, nice rain shower, comfy bed. Good airconditioning. Freshly cooked breakfast on outside terrace. Friendly service.

Centrally located hotel in Artemonas
Artemonas is a convenient and beautiful location. The hotel is placed in the center of Artemonas which made visiting Apollonia and other sights easy, including by walking the short trail between the two villages. The à la carte breakfast was tasty and generous, including our favorite, avocado and tomato toasts, and loose-leaf green and black tea. The room was rather small but with a balcony with a view on the main pedestrian street and Apollonia below that made it more functional. One thing we did not like at all was the bathroom, which was small, smelly and not so functional. There was a nice outside area with sofas to chill out that made it more friendly for a break from the room.

A Great place to be if you choose Sifnos!
Was a great experience ! All personnel and especially Mr Antonis who is the owner, were very kind and willing to assist . Hotel is at a Great spot in the village just were you would pick even as a local to be. Clean safe and 100%decent apartments for their price. The breakfast area is at the same restaurant bar right next to the rooms so very convenient. Artemonas is a key place to the centre of the isle and easier to move around sightseeings and beaches the whole time. I recommend you to try as many breakfast menu plates you can . All were delicious!

Adonis and his staff at smaragdi were truly exceptional. I felt so well taken care of and loved the style and comfort of the hotel. I was solo and without a car, but the hotel is very well situated to take the bus and walk to near by beaches. Great breakfast and food as well! Thank you again for a memorable stay, I will return soon :))

Nice location as a base to explore the island, very central and the bus station is a few metres away. Beaches are around 15 mins by car. Lots of restaurants around and easy to get into the main town. Staff were all very friendly and helpful. The restaurant is also excellent.

We were robbed!!!
We were not given room we reserved and they didn't reimburse for the full difference of the lesser room. They essentially doubly booked the nice room and cheated us. The owner smiled as he stabbed us in the back.

I really loved this little hotel. The staff were just amazing. so friendly and helpful. They gave us recommendations about where to go, what to do, and how to catch the busses. The breakfast was amazing. Great choices and all yummy! The vibe was very cool. Great mellow music in the restaurant. I wis we had more time to spend there.

Great boutique hotel; highly recommend
What a great little family-owned (and run) boutique hotel on the beautiful island of Sifnos. The hotel is located just off the main square of Artemonas and is a great base from which to explore the island - close to the bus stop and hiking trails. Adonis and his team extended a very warm welcome and helped make our all-to-brief stay in the island a memorable one, including a particularly fine breakfast and a damn good cappuccino!

Really enjoyed my stay at Smaragdi. Family owned hotel and they are wonderful hosts. They were very responsive and helpful. GREAT location right in the plaza of Artemonas and just a short walk to Apollonia. Really nice restaurants and bars right in the plaza and also right next to one of the main hiking trails on the island. Would definitely stay there again.

Very nice small hotel in Artemonas
Very nice small hotel. The location is excellent at the main square of the beautiful village of Artemonas. It is very close to the bus stop (the bus network is great in Sifnos) and approx 15 min walk from Apollonia. Our room was quite small but beautifully decorated and the little private terrace compensated for the lack of space inside. The room was cleaned daily and seems to have been very recently renovated with attention to detail. WiFi was not working well at the room but was ok at the cafe. The owner and the staff at the hotel are very friendly and helpful, true professionals. The breakfast, served at the relaxed cafe of the hotel, is excellent and offers a good variety of dishes. A very nice stay, highly recommended.

Great gem in a quaint village
My room #6 was quiet, quaint and incredibly clean. Bathroom was on micro side but I was by myself and didn't care as it was well appointed. I also understand that it is up next for remodeling and was shown the plans. Antonia and his staff are incredibly friendly, helpful and go out of their way to make you feel special and have the most enjoyable and restful stay. It's Ritz-Carlton hospitality, and I know as I am former Ritz-Carlton myself. I can't say enough good things about this cute little hotel in an equally cute and quaint village. Much quieter than Apollonia but has equally great places to eat and drink but just not condensed with young tourists. It's a 20 minute scenic walk or a 7 minute bus or taxi ride. I loved my stay and so will you!

Very nice stay in Sifnos, and in particular at smaragdi hotel. People are very nice and ready to help. Hotel is located close to the bus terminal (100m) which is very good to visit any place of the island. In addition, kitchen is very nice, in all the island taverns. For us, Sifnos represents the Greek "art de vivre". We recommand it.

Hotel in a village location. Hotel has its own cafe / restaurant next to rooms around a little pedestrian square with paths off into village or the town of Apollonia. Food and staff were amazing and nothing was too much trouble. Central location to rest of island. Car hire needed although a good bus service around the island. Beautiful beaches and not too busy.

Perfect location, best food, great peoples.
We stay only for 3 days on sifnos and slept at Smaragdi hotel both night. The hotel is 1 min walk from one of the main bus stop of the island which make everything easier to visit. The village is beautiful and there is a pedestrian street that goes directly to Appolonia. The staff is very nice and the owner gave us a lot of advice and very good suggestion to visit and enjoy the island. The room is great and super clean. The breakfast was generous and delicious just like all the other meal we had at Smaragdi restaurant. We highly recomand to stay there if you go to sifnos, we would have stay longer and will surely go again.

Smaragdi is in a fabulous location. Walking distance from other villiages & Kastro. The breakfast was fresh & in abundance! Ana was fantastic. The reviews here are accurate, the shower curtain needs to be changed. It was moldy. Alas Antonio was very personlable & helpful!

Great place convenient for Buses acoss the island
We stayed five days in a lovely room with two balconies. The owner / manager was helpful friendly and fun, sitting with us at times and advising accurately regarding the highlights of the island etc. The breakfast was individually cooked whenever you wanted with an imaginative choice of dishes and fresh juices and coffee, one morning we had multiple courses at no extra cost. We used the bus network to get around the island, all routes start and finish very close to the hotel.

Sifnos hotel with best breakfast ever!
Very small hotel with a fantastic staff! The staff went always above and beyond to make sure we had a very memorable experience, and they were very successful in doing it! In the middle of a small town is the perfect place to stay to get to know a "less touristy" Greek town. This island is a real hidden charm!

We had a really great stay at Smaragdi. It's centrally located within the town, close to lots of restaurants, the bus terminal (Sifnos has a really great public bus system that gets you to all the main beaches), hiking trail heads. The room itself was simple, clean and all you really need, but the bathroom needed updating. We enjoyed our breakfast at the hotel restaurant, lots of fresh options to choose from, and had drinks there a couple times in the evening also. The best part of Smaragdi is the effortless hospitality of the owner and the rest of the staff. They all genuinely care about what they do and go out of their way to make you feel welcome and to help you out during your stay.

Stylish, modern hotel with a laid-back vibe located in an excellent spot for getting everywhere with Sifnos' impressive bus system. Situated right above Apollonia, you're walking distance from the action in town, but have a quiet little haven in this upper village as well as a lovely breakfast and on-site restsurant. Feels like an under-the-radar gem! Best spot to stay in.

Very please to find I was on the outskirts of the main town and in a very traditional setting. The hotel is both comfortable and very tasteful. The owner is very helpful and forthcoming with local knowledge and advice. The situation of the area for breakfast and drinks in the evening is lovely.

The most charming and hospitable stay on Sifnos!
Hotel Smaragdi was recommended by a friend and I immediately found out why! Not only is the location amazing (in the centre of the picturesque and historic village of Artemonas) the warm welcome I received gave me a good idea of what I was about to experience! The owners go out of their way to make it the most comfortable experience and give visitors a true taste of Greek hospitality at its finest! It was so nice, that on a few evenings we preferred to hang out with them and other guests at the hotel over a great selection of cocktails and nibbles, rather than go to the noisier (and bar-packed) section of the island. Very clean, great location (the bus stop is just around the corner for those who don't drive, but there is also one of the few car parks on the island for those who do) great food and ambience. All in all, I loved it and can't wait to go back next year!

The rooms were clean and the service was excellent. The breakfast was a great way to start the day. From the hotel, you are literally steps to a bus stop that will take you all around the island. You are also a 15 minute walk from the main town (Apollonia). Would highly recommend.

From the moment we arrived in this peaceful town square, we were escorted to the beautiful spacious 2bedroom suite with 3 balconies and no interconnecting walls. Antoni helpful hints and advice were invaluable, and the breakfast was amazing thanks to our waiter georgio. He even remembered our preferences every day.
