Nice stay at mountainside home
Our family of 5 had a great stay at Samantha’s place on the mountainside. The home was spacious, clean, and matched the description well. Samantha was a responsive and thoughtful host. The home is in a remote location about 10-15 min drive up the mountain, so this is perfect if you want something off the beaten track! Thank you, Samantha!

Lovely house in the mountains
Lovely property with a really nice couple doing the rentals. We had to get to the house at 10pm and were thankful for Samantha’s comprehensive instructions. The road is not to bad once you get used to it which took us a few trips. The house itself was kept really clean, is beautiful to look at and has great views. Bedrooms and bathrooms are downstairs the kitchen, lounge and terraces on the 1st floor. It works well. The Swimming pool is large, well maintained and perfect for hot afternoons in. The outside area had a good barbecue, a swing and various seating and lounging areas. The house is in a group of 5/6 properties fairly close to each other with the owners having a couple of these. As a remote house everything is not perfect but what I was happy about is that the owners fixed things quickly when they went wrong. Overall we enjoyed being here and would recommend it to anyone wanting a break somewhere a bit different. Samantha we thank you for your hospitality. Best wishes

Lovely Spot
Such a lovely spot up in the mountains! Less touristic with beautiful scenery. Samantha was a very attentive and helpful host. We stayed for a week and saw a fair bit of Northern Crete with one trip to the South. The pool was great to have in a heatwave, and the house was very comfortable, tasteful and clean (with a mid-week service!). Very nice for two families of three to spend time together. Loved the goats and owl.

A magical vacation
If you love the countryside than this is your dream vaca! The views are spectacular, the pool was perfect and the villa was lovely and even more beautiful than we expected. We highly recommend this incredible place! It is a bit off the beaten track in regards going out at night but a very easy location to go to Chania for day trips, beaches and cultural excursion. Thank you Samantha and Jerry for an incredible experience!

Relaxing break
Crete and its people are wonderful and the property allowed us to enjoy the hospitality and scenery fully. There are many excellent tavernas within a short drive and access to mountains and coast is 25 mins max. Beautiful. The property is within a small group and is exceptionally clean with all facilities and regular cleaning was made every few days during our two weeks. We would recommend the property to anybody looking for an opportunity to unwind The owners are readily available for help and advice should you need it.

You will not be disappointed!!
As we had booked the Villa before March 2020 our August holiday was to be blighted by the prospect of cancellation through Covid. Samantha supported us all the way and kept us informed of any changes over in Crete. The Villa was well worth the anxiety; it’s a beautiful building in a beautiful location. It has a backdrop of the White Mountains and views out towards the sea. The Villa has everything you could ever need and Samantha is but a phone call away for advice and help.

A Slice of Heaven
Gorgeous well appointed villa with panoramic views. A brilliant taste of rural Crete with all home comforts. The villa is spacious, comfortable and immaculately clean. Pool is sufficiently deep enough to enjoy a swim, without being scarily so. Warm welcome at the airport from the owner was hugely appreciated - particularly as we arrived at night. Recommend trying the food delivery service from the local taverna. Delicious! The area offers a brilliant mix of holiday options ranging from beaches, rural villages, mountains and archaeological sites as well as the Venetian city of Chania itself. This property is highly recommended. Just book it!

A magnificent villa for a true Cretan experience
The villa is wonderful located to provide the serenity of the mountains and easy access to the glorious beaches and sea. It is beautifully designed to give privacy and views all round. The architecture is sympathetic to the surroundings but fully modern and providing everything needed for a fantastic holiday. The owners could not have been more accommodating. It comes with a 5 star rating.

Gorgeous stone villa, lovely hosts
The villa is even nicer than the photos, it’s built with thick stone walls and wooden beamed ceilings. The rooms are all good size and the beds are super comfy. My husband and I stayed in August with our three children and we had the perfect amount of space and privacy. The villa is cleaned with fresh linen mid week which was much appreciated. The children loved the pool and we loved the views of the mountains and valleys to the sea, the mountain breezes and the rich greenery. There are several lovely villages between the house and the coast, and we explored different areas of the coastline too. Stavros and his wife were very kind friendly and helpful, not intrusive but always available if needed. Very good communication with the hosts. We highly recommend this place as an ideal slightly off the beaten track location from which to explore northern Greece

Wonderful house in wonderful area
We have just returned from 2 glorious weeks’ holiday in this beautiful house in the village of Melidoni. The scenery is stunning and visiting the nearby sites and villages is a fantastic experience. The house is beautifully built, designed and stylish and there is a lovely pool. We were there with our children, partners and grandchildren and we all loved it. A huge bonus was that the manager, Stavros, couldn’t have been more helpful, informative and interesting on the history, culture, geology - everything - of Crete. We followed much of his advice on places to visit, eat etc and were never disappointed. We love Crete and this was the most beautiful place we have stayed.

Perfect getaway!
Lovely clean and modern apartment with a gentle mountain breeze. Kids loved the pool and the beaches and restaurants nearby were plentiful. Lots to see and do, throughly enjoyed our stay!

Stunning Villa at the top of Melidoni - views are outstanding
We had an amazing holiday which was helped by the beautiful villa that is tucked away at the top of Melidoni . The village is extremely quite , just what we needed for a relaxing break. The island is stunning and with Stavros ' top places to visit' it meant that we spent many hours creating extraordinary life time memories. The villa is well equipped , clean and the beds extremely comfy - it created the best setting for such a relaxing but memorable holiday.

We absolutely loved staying here so much that we added an extra 4 days on. The mountain views and the tranquility were exactly what we needed and I can honestly say it was a small slice of heaven. The hosts were superb and extremely helpful all along and Stavros was a mine of information and a great help with suggestions Be aware, you need a car and the road can be a little tight. Nearest decent eatery was 3 miles away down hill All in all a very enjoyable and relaxing place Would defiantly return here

Great location and very comfortable villa
We had an excellent stay - the villa is spacious, well-designed and welcoming and the scenery is wonderful - mountains behind and long views down to the sea in front. Sitting on the terrace with beer and olives, listening to sheep bells on the hillside you really appreciate the peace of a village setting. But the drive to ancient villages or beaches or shops or cities is an easy one. The owners and neighbours are very friendly and hospitable with advice on where to go, what to see and how to get there and a week was not enough to do all we would have liked. We would definitely recommend a holiday here.

We travelled as a three generational family. Samantha was helpful pre-arrival with any questions that we had. The villa was really well maintained with the necessary amenities (Wi-fi, dishwasher, washing machine, BBQ). One of the bedrooms with a bunk bed is only accessed through the Master bedroom. Stavros was super helpful in recommending places to go to and organising the home cooked meal (mousakka and baked lamb were good, the local red wine was interesting). The weather wasn’t nice enough for us to use the pool but we would love to come back when it’s hotter! Thank you Samantha and Stavros!

Total relaxation in magical surroundings
We couldn't fault this property or the location. Just wonderful! Stavros was so friendly and always around for helpful advice. The villa has amazing views and the light mountain breeze in the evening was perfect after a hot day. We will definitely be back.

A beautifully well built villa
A solid stone, well equipped villa with stunning views of the White Mountains and down to the coast. We had a lovely stay, the villa is about 40mins drive from Chania and 20mins from Kalyves. There are a number of good taverna's in the surrounding area, car is essential to enjoy getting out and about, but lazy days poolside are so enjoyable as this area is so peaceful. We have holiday'd in Crete a few times and have never been let down by the quality of our villa rental's. The owners communicated well with no fuss; we would definitely recommend staying here.

Great communication from Samantha at all times. Villa is so nice. It's the perfect place as we like getting away from the crowds. Stayed with my wife and two kids aged 3 and 1. Stavros is a gentleman, he made us feel very welcome and gave good advice about Crete. Food ordered from the lovely lady in the village is a true taste of Cretan cooking. We ordered 3 times. Kids loved that pool, which is where they spent most of the time. Definitely will return. Many thanks for a stress free holiday x

Lovely environment and very enjoyable holiday!
We loved the Villa and the location. Good country walks on the doorstep, easy driving distance to Chania. The Villa was very clean and all essential needs were provided. We found the people of Crete very helpful and friendly, and very much so enjoyed our visit. Local food produce was fresh and the meals at the local Taverna's we visited were wonderful! A very relaxing atmosphere in the Villa, surrounded by mountain views. A great place to feel away from the 'hussle and bussle' of life. Plenty to do if you like nature and ancient history and good food!

Wir haben eine großartige Zeit in der traumhaften Villa von Samantha und Jerry verbracht. Der Aufenthalt dort hat unsere schon hohen Erwartungen nochmal um einiges übertroffen. Die Villa selbst ist ein echtes Juwel. Sie liegt inmitten der Apokoronas-Hügel und bietet einen beeindruckenden Blick auf die Berge und zugleich über die Küste auf das Meer. Das Haus, das aus massivem Stein erbaut wurde, verbindet auf gelungene Weise den Charme eines traditionellen griechischen Gebäudes mit modernem Komfort. Besonders genossen haben wir den privaten Pool und den liebevoll angelegten Garten, die ideale Orte waren, um zwischen den Ausflügen ans Meer, in die Berge oder nach Chania die sonnigen Tage zu genießen und zu entspannen. Die Lage in dem ruhigen Dorf bot uns die Möglichkeit, dem hektischen Alltag zu entfliehen. Gleichzeitig war es nur eine kurze Fahrt runter bis zu den schönen Stränden an der Küste und nach Chania. Schon bei unserer Ankunft wurden wir herzlich von Jerry und Samantha empfangen. Die Gastfreundschaft der beiden hat dazu beigetragen, dass wir uns sehr willkommen gefühlt haben. Besonders schön für uns und die Kinder war der spannende Trip in die Berge, den wir alle gemeinsam gemacht haben. Wir hoffen, bald wieder nach Kreta an diesen wunderschönen Ort kommen zu können!

Traumhafter Urlaub
Wir durften bei Samantha und Jerry einen wunderbaren Urlaub verbringen. Wir haben ganz spontan 3 Tage vorher gebucht und waren zunächst skeptisch ob alles funktionieren würde. Es war aber alles hervorragend. Samantha und Jerry haben uns herzlich in ihrem wunderbaren Hause willkommen geheißen. Das Haus ist überzeugend, geschmackvoll eingerichtet und sehr sauber. Man hat viel Platz um entspannte Stunden zu verbringen. Der Pool war sauber und warm und ideal zum abkühlen. Man konnte Samantha und Jerry jederzeit kontaktieren und nach Tips bzgl. schöner Strände, Tavernen und Co. Fragen. Wir waren wirklich sehr glücklich mit unserem Aufenthalt und werden garantiert wieder kommen!!!

Top Villa - absolut empfehlenswert
Sehr geschmackvoll eingerichtete und komfortable Urlaubsvilla. Es fehlte nichts und wir haben uns dort sehr wohl gefühlt.Sie liegt sehr ruhig in dem kleinen Bergdorf Melidoni. Von dort hat man einen tollen Ausblick auf die Berge und bis zum Meer. Abends kann man den herrlichen Sternenhimmel genießen. Samantha und Jerry haben uns sehr hilfreiche Tipps gegeben zu Stränden, Sehenswürdigkeiten, Restaurants und Geschäften. Der Küstenort Kalyves liegt ca 20 Minuten mit dem Auto entfernt. Der Ort ist noch recht ursprünglich und bietet gute Einkaufsmöglichkeiten. Wir hatten einen sehr entspannten und erholsamen Urlaub und kommen gerne wieder.

Urlaub einer Familie mit drei Kindern im Oktober 2020
Wir haben im Oktober 2020 zehn Tage in der wunderschönen Villa Amaltheia in Melidoni verbracht. Die Villa steht zusammen mit vier weiteren Häusern im gleichen traditionellen Stil ruhig gelegen am Rande des Dorfes Melidoni. Man hat einen traumhaften Blick auf die weißen Berge, die umliegende Umgebung und teilweise auch auf das Meer. Die Villa ist sehr geschmackvoll und gemütlich eingerichtet mit einer großen Terrasse im ersten Stock, auch der Pool mit den Liegen hat uns sehr gut gefallen. Obwohl das Haus sehr ruhig und abgeschieden liegt, erreicht man in nur ca. 15 Minuten die schönen Strände von Kalives oder Georgioupolis. Der Service vor Ort war hervorragend, Samantha war jederzeit erreichbar und hat uns viele Tipps für Restaurants und Aktivitäten in der Umgebung gegeben. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt und kommen bestimmt wieder!

Idylle und Ruhe unweit des pulsierenden Lebens und der Strände
Das Haus liegt fantastisch gelegen am Hang mit einem fast 360 Grad Ausblick. Hier kann man sich fallen lassen und den Garten mit Pool genießen, den Zikaden zuhören und sich morgens von den Glöckchen der Ziegen wecken lassen. Am Abend lockt der Sternenhimmel und die frische wohltuende Luft, so daß man versucht ist draußen zu schlafen. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt, da Samantha an alles gedacht hat, was zum Wohlfühlen gehört. Sogar ein Frühstückspaket fanden wir vor, neben einer Mappe mit reichlich Informationen. Die Ausstattung des Hauses ist sehr geschmackvoll und paßt fantastisch zum Stil des Hauses inklusive allem Komfort den man sich wünscht. Wir kommen wieder!

Annonce qui ne correspond pas à la réalité
Nous ne pouvons malheureusement pas nous joindre au concert de louanges concernant cette maison. En effet, l'annonce manque beaucoup de précision et de transparence. 1. L'annonce insiste sur le caractère isolé mais il faut savoir que la maison n'est PAS DU TOUT isolée. Elle est située dans une sorte de petit lotissement avec plusieurs maisons très proches les unes des autres (ce lotissement étant effectivement isolé). Cette maison est littéralement collée à une autre maison dont elle n'est séparée que par un minuscule muret de 60 cm de hauteur. On entend tout ce qui se passe chez les voisins et on peut également tout voir et être vu quand on est dans le jardin ! Les enfants des voisins nous épiaient et on pouvait les entendre crier toute la journée. Aucune intimité et aucun calme. Difficile de profiter des vacances et de se détendre ! Il faut savoir que la piscine de la maison voisine est à 2 mètres seulement (vous pouvez vérifiez sur google maps). Nous avons été choqués de découvrir cela en arrivant car aucune photo ni aucun élément de l'annonce ne le précise. Il serait honnête et indispensable de le préciser. Nous concernant, nous n'aurions jamais réservé cette maison si nous avions eu cette précision car nous recherchions avant tout le calme. Concernant l'absence de séparation visuelle entre les deux maisons, la propriétaire nous a expliqué que la clôture avait été détruite par une tempête pendant l'hiver et qu'elle n'avait pas pu la remplacer à cause du confinement. Cette excuse ne nous a pas semblé suffisante et une solution provisoire aurait absolument dû être mise en place. 2. Les "vues spectaculaires" sont bien réelles mais UNIQUEMENT depuis les terrasses. Depuis le jardin, on ne voit donc que les voisins et une petite ruelle qui passe derrière la maison. Là aussi, pourquoi ne pas le préciser dans l'annonce ? Car on ne peut être que déçu en arrivant. En résumé, la maison elle-même est formidable mais l'annonce manque de transparence et même d'honnêteté car elle laisse penser que les choses sont bien meilleures que la réalité. De plus, nous avons expliqué tout ceci à la propriétaire lors de notre départ et nous nous attendions à un petit geste de sa part, ne serait-ce qu'un mot d'excuse ou une modification de l'annonce. Nous n'avons jamais eu de nouvelles et nous constatons que l'annonce n'a pas été modifiée à ce jour. Méfiance donc si vous réservez, la réalité est moins plaisante que ce que vous pouvez croire...

We are very sorry that you did not enjoy your stay as the majority have done. This is of course never what we wish for. We do mainly host families and groups, what with it being a three bedroom villa, so children are to be expected. This is also clear in our reviews, which are almost exclusively from families. Perhaps what may have been a slight confusion on your part is our description of the villa. We clearly state that we are based in a village and that the village is secluded, which it most certainly is, however we are still in a village with other houses in the vicinity. To say that we are misleading in our description is unfair. We wish you could have informed us of your complaints before you left, on the multiple occasions when we saw you, as we would have done our best to rectify what we could. In response to the damaged fence we have temporary fencing in place ahead of a wall being built at the end of the season. Finally we have to point out that our villas are not attached. They are separated by gardens and a wall. Looking on google maps as you suggest proves this.

Tolle Unterkunft in toller Umgebung
Wir haben uns sehr wohlgefühlt und es fehlte uns an nichts. Wer dem Touri-Trubel entgehen möchte und Ruhe genießen möchte ist hier richtig. Ein Mietwagen ist zwingend notwendig, die Straße nach Melidoni sehr idyllisch durch Olivenhaine mit tollem Ausblick. In den umliegenden Orten gibt es mehrere Möglichkeiten gut und preiswert zu essen. Alle drei Tage wurden Handtücher und Bettwäsche gewechselt und die Mülleimer geleert. Stavros kümmert sich um die Häuser und gab uns hilfreiche Tipps und Hinweise.

Sehr schöne Ferienvilla mit tollen Ausblicken auf die Berge und das Meer
Das Haus ist sehr schön gelegen und hat eine gute Ausstattung. Es ist alles da, was man für einen gelungenen und ruhigen Aufenthalt braucht. Alles ist sehr sauber und gepflegt und alle paar Tage kommt jemand, zum Saubermachen und Wäschewechseln. Prima sind auch die Erstausstattung für das erste Frühstück und die guten Tipps von Stavros.
