Review is for the 2 bedroom apartment, not the hotel. The Apartment occupies the entire top second floor of a separate Chalet. The interior is a bit old and dated. But it is very spacious and has all the comforts of home. The kitchen is a full-size European kitchen with stove top, oven, refrigerator, dishwasher and sink. It also has a large dining room table with room for 6 or more to sit and eat. There are two bedrooms with comfortable beds, one bathroom, a separate room for the washer and dryer, a large family room with TV and another dining table. There was more room than we could use for our family of four. The best part of the Chalet is the large balcony with direct and stunning views of the Eiger. We spent hours having happy hour and enjoying the incredible views.
The chalet is behind the hotel and off the main road and is very quiet. There is a market virtually next door. Because we had a kitchen, we purchased groceries at the market and ate all breakfasts and dinners at the apartment. We also purchased food for daily picnic lunches.
We also had use of the fitness center and spa in the hotel which was just steps away.
Shops, train station, the lift to First and the Bachalpsee were all close and short walks away. Everything is easy to get to and to do. Grindelwald and the apartment at the Aparthotel Grindelwald were definitely the highlight of our 3 week vacation through Germany, France and Switzerland. We will be back!!
