"There is an instant sense of calm and relaxation on arrival. As you step out onto the deck looking down on the tree studded town and out across the valley to the green vine covered hills beyond, you just want to take in slow, deep breaths of fresh country air. Everything feels spacious and open: from the acre of land with its little wishing well and Aussie windmill, budding orchard and sprouting vineyard to the generous rooms with vaulted ceilings and large windows providing views in all directions and glimpses of the cleverly decorated garden and landscape. The place is new and modern with quality finishes and thoughtful touches reflecting an eye for the aesthetic. We visit the Clare Valley frequently and this accommodation is an excellent base from which to venture out and explore the wineries and restaurants or to walk or ride the Riesling Trail. We look forward to enjoying the tranquil ambience of Ernie’s Acre again. Thank you, Sue!"

"The accommodation was a little bit quirky but had everything you needed. It was clean, comfortable and secure with a lovely, locally sourced continental breakfast for the first morning.
The location is a great central point for visiting the local area; wineries, galleries and museums."
Peppertree Cottage in a beautiful Rural Setting

"The cottage was located surrounded by paddocks with green crops and sheep. The front and back yard had beautiful green grass and trees with plenty of bird life. A great spot to relax and unwind. The cottage itself was very clean and comfortable beds. They left a delicious loaf of bread with butter and orange juice upon our arrival, quite a few thoughtful things found around the house. Would highly recommend staying here and we will be coming back again!"
