A gem of a place

Fantastic food and really friendly staff. Very clean rooms all have a view of the lake, and there's a path for you to walk all around it. Lovely breakfast too.

In beautiful countryside

Surrounded by beautiful countryside, the hotel is in a great position. Large room with walk in shower. Food was good in the restaurant but the service a little slow. Excellent breakfast.

Hidden gem

Just a fantastic find off the beaten track, in an idiotic location. Hotel neat and quirky, with great size, comfortable room opening out into the scenic grounds. Restaurant first class, wide choice of dishes, every thing perfect. Friendly staff who were helpful and welcoming. Would highly recommend fora relaxing break or over night stay on the way south. Also good value and quality.

6/10 Okay

Our check in could be described as perfunctory boarding on the brusque . Upon arrival and pressing the bell we waited a few minutes and someone came along. Didn’t introduce himself or even say “ Welcome etc”, just “what is your name, then your room number is, handed over keys and asked about breakfast. We weren’t even told about the residents lounge ( which we discovered the next morning - a bit too late by then). Rooms were moderately clean, with a couple of spiders and cobwebs in the ceiling corners and in the separate loo. One chair was stained. The bed was softer than expected but that’s down to personal choice. The property was chosen due to its location ( just a few km from motorway), but also for the peace and quiet. Alas, we were disturbed at 1am for about 20 minutes due to noisy restaurant visitors leaving the car park, without any consideration for guests. You can guess - the usual, noisy goodbyes, shouting across the car park and lots of giggling, no doubt after several glasses of wine. Unfortunately my poor French wasn’t good enough to explain the disturbance to the waitress at breakfast. So when you book, make sure to ask for a room facing the car park. Breakfast was the redeeming element as there was a cooked element including sausages, scrambled eggs and bacon. When we checked out there was no enquiry as to ‘did you enjoy your stay’ etc.

We spent one night at La Source Bleu whilst travelling through France. What a fantastic hotel. Nathalie and the team (Sandrine, Amina and Julien) are very friendly and made us feel welcome. The room was very nice, and a lot of thought has gone into furnishing the hotel as a whole. There is a great backstory to the hotel, which is very much a family business, and the setting is absolutely wonderful with a stunning lake filled by a natural spring. The evening meal was superb thanks to the amazing chef (and owner) Francois. We would thoroughly recommend the hotel and look forward to returning in the future.
