Our hotel property is designed to preserve the natural dunes of the beach, so our layout is long east to west along the beach, rather than long north to south. The additional benefits are that you get a beautiful view of the Gulf as you make your way to your room. Fun fact about the parking spaces too, as you may have noticed, the uncovered parking spaces are permeable (a grid made of recycled plastic). This allows for rainwater to drain directly into the ground. We do apologize if the walk seemed excessive.

We do apologize if the walk seemed excessive.As a full-service hotel, we are limited by liabilities in allowing guests to take a bell cart, so we offer a personalized bell service for luggage assistance. Hi Jenny,We agree - Gulf State Park is a jewel! And how fortunate we are to be located within the park on this beautiful stretch of Alabama's sugar white sand beaches. As awesome as the beaches are, a short walk across the footbridge you can also explore everything the park has to offer. Two beach chairs and an umbrella are 45 for one day, 80 for two days. And similar to the prior paragraph, full service hotels on the Gulf Coast from Gulf Shores to Pensacola, FL to Destin, FL to Panama City, Florida, all charge for their beach umbrellas and chairs.Thanks again for your comments. All beachfront parking areas inside Gulf State Park are paid lots, with The Lodge being one of them. Although there is a charge for parking, you will be pleased to know The Lodge does not have any hotel fees, like the majority of hotels charge their guests. Guests typically love our perfect beachfront location, with no condo towers or buildings on either side of The Lodge. Downtown Gulf Shores is 1.7 miles west while Orange Beach begins 1.5 miles east of The Lodge. Thanks again for your comments.
