Our 5th stay at Mawmaw’s Beach House

As always the house was clean, comfortable, dog friendly and well equipped. My friend and I come with 3 big dogs. There are 2 large decks perfect for dog drying and a shower below for dog washing. It is perfect and Cheryle is always helpful.

The area is peaceful, we wouldn’t go anywhere else. The house has everything you need and more. Cheryle is a wonderful person to rent from. We’ve been coming back to her houses for years now. I think this is the fifth time we’ve rented from her. Our fur babies got to come on vacation too. I wouldn’t have it any other way, leaving them at home I would be worried sick. Just wished we could stay longer and more often than we do. Fort Morgan is always beautiful, peaceful and away from crowds.

This little beach house afforded us the most perfect vacation ever! It was about a football field length from a gorgeous beach with very few other people. The house was so well stocked, it had everything. And it was dog friendly, as well as the beach. Cheryle was a great host. We will definitely be back

Perfect beach house

Our stay at Maw Maws beach house was perfect. I have stayed at many properties over the years in the Gulf Shores/Ft.Morgan area, but this by far is the best. This is our 3rd time renting this home, and won't be the last. Cheryle is the perfect host, she truly cares about the people who rent her home, and she only wants the best for us. The house has 2 covered decks, one in front and one in the back. Unfortunately the first week we stayed tropical storm Francine hit, but having the decks to sit on still allowed us to enjoy the beautiful views, even in the rain. Thank you Cheryle for being such a gracious host.

Maintenance Needed

There is some major maintenance that is needed on this property. The wood flooring is damaged. The subfloor is also very soft in places, so soft that we thought we would fall through in areas if stepped on just right. There were DampRid bags in all the closets that were full of water that needed changed. The house smelled moldy/damp. There is mold in the showers. All of the vents are rusted. The driveway is full of weeds and the grass needs mowed. In other reviews the owned touches on the reason she keeps the grass long. But other lawns are mowed in the neighborhood. And if you look at pictures of the house online the lawn is mowed. The beach equipment like the wagon is broken and rusted out so we couldn’t use it to transport beach items to the beach. The beach umbrella was also broken. The location of this house to the beach was amazing. There were plenty of beach chairs and beach items at the house. The beds were cozy. Unfortunately we feel this house isn’t worth the price we paid for it. Next time we will use a property management company for renting properties. Ones that have a maintenance team so we know for sure what type of property were renting.

My family of 7 enjoyed our week at Maw Maw’s beach house so much! I honestly do not have any complaints, the house was clean and pretty much had everything we needed that we didn’t bring ourselves! Clean roomy perfect location

We booked this trip almost last minute and needed 2 houses next to each other to sleep a whole lot of people. Cheryle came through…. Super communication before during and after and made any anxietys about the house or check in non existent. These places have everything you need and then some as everyone who comes through there keeps donating stuff for the next group which we did as well. Do not being any beach stuff as there is ample amount of stuff for everyone . This place will not disappoint clean quiet and stores for basic needs within 10 minutes. Definately will be back! Thanks Cheryle you were great
