“We stayed for 2 nights arriving on the Friday and leaving on the Sunday morning. The weather was great which meant we could relax outside. The main purpose was to attend a school reunion and also to have dinner with old friends.”

“The hosts were very helpful. I've never stayed anywhere with a toothbrush, toothpaste, shaving cream and a disposable razor in the bathroom. The location was a 10 minute walk out of town, but there was a chippy nearby. Rather than eat my takeaway in my room I was invited to use the dining area and supplied with cutlery. The breakfast was good as well.”

“I spent 3 nights and overall had an enjoyable stay. The room was a good size, very clean, and the bed very comfy. Only slight disappointment was that the advertised fridge was not in the room; I was expecting this to keep drinks cold and for packed lunches. Check in was done online and very easy. Whilst this was quick and efficient it meant the personal touch was lacking and I did not see anyone else during my stay. Great location on the promenade with pubs, restaurants, and the station within……

“What was special about the Kitchener was the view of the sea and the welcoming staff.”

“Interesting one. Stables is quite secluded within a large park. I arrived in the evening. I was the only guest and there was a message directing me to my room. Excellent bedroom lots of space, well appointed bathroom with bath and shower. One of the most comfortable beds I’ve slept in for a long time. Room information provides suggestions for places to eat but it’s a bit of a trek to the main road and a bit confusing in the dark. Freshly cooked breakfast was really good ”

“The food was some of the best we have ever eaten - delicious and freshly made. The room however was disappointing- clearly see some improvements but masking tape around the towel rail - holes in the wall in bathroom and bathroom door handle broken - cleanliness could have been better - toilet lid and seat had dirt in it and the ledge under the towel rail was full of dust and hairs - towels provided had stains on and holes in them - can’t complain regards to staff and service and the food all……
