It was a hotel and the beds and rooms were clean but the first room I was in had a Murphy bed with a large gap behind the head of the bed where pillows inevitably would fall through in the middle of the night. So large I was able to put my suitcase behind it and there was still room. I brought this up to the front desk staff and their only solution was to upgrade my room at my expense.
The lobby area is not representative of the rooms. While clean, entire décore and furniture is extremely dated.
Gym facilities has very old machines and it’s a very small space.
The most important issue with this hotel was the access to the parking garage, you have to go through a maze of hallways and elevators. Very time I tried to find my Cari would have to ask at least 3 different people and some times they were confused. This was very frustrating, the garage is used for different businesses and other hotels.
The room was not very clean, with no maid service unless you stay for 4 nights or more. I have been in better equipped rooms in motels, they they are at least clean and with easy parking at your door. This hotel should be ashamed to charge the rates they ask, plus parking at $30 per day. I will never recommend this hotel to anyone else.

Downtown Halifax is expensive and this is one of the hotels which cost slightly less. Saying that, our bathroom fan didn't work (front desk didn't fix it), there was old food smelling up in the fridge, and we had to request a microwave put in our room.
The stay could have been better for $300/night, but being in downtown Halifax was well worth it.
I’ve stayed at this hotel many times in the past when it was under the Delta banner. Feels very much like the Delta has pulled out due to lack of investment and quality of services. Hotel needs a complete overhaul. Staff is a skeleton crew no bellboys no parking assistance. Parking is in a parking garage on the next block, which is very inconvenient places very tired and smacks of an owner, who is not interested in investing to keep the property up to the standards of hotels in the rest of the city.
The hotel room was nice but the wifi was very spotty. Alot of the time it didn't work. The bath dispensers were horrible. You could hardly get anything out. We only at breakfast in the restaurant and they got 3 of 4 orders wrong. I rarely saw anyone eat dinner there. There are lots of great restaurants nearby. The hotel is in a great location. All major attractions are in walking distance

Good location, don’t just tap your credit card when entering the public parking lot, take a ticket. Payment is then made at reception - so you don’t pay $36 for the nights stay!!
Hotel feels a little tired, but clean and friendly staff. Our bathroom had a tub with shower over with curtain. There were a number of chips on the bath that maintenance had patched. The bathroom has shampoo, shower gel & conditioner secured to the wall for the bath/shower but the middle one was missing, shower gel. I asked reception if this could be replaced while we were out - on return we had 3 additional hotel sized shampoo bottles left on the bath - so we washed with shampoo. But the bath towel supply was good!
Breakfast (additional cost) was good, unfortunately after our order was placed for yoghurt/toast & an eggs Benedict it took just over 45 minutes to arrive.
Overall OK but I’m not rushing back at nearly $400 for the night.
The staff at the hotel were very nice. It is centrally located in downtown Halifax and close to restaurants, entertainment, museums and the boardwalk. Everything is within walking distance.
The hotel was conveniently located with an easy walk to the harbour front and close to the restaurants and pubs, which was nice. Unfortunately the hotel’s AC wasn’t working for the first 2 days we were there and it was extremely hot (+34C). The staff were helpful in providing us with a fan thankfully. Once the AC was back on it still wasn’t that cool and don’t know if this is normal or if it was just taking time for the building to cool in general. Also our mini fridge wasn’t working but it was replaced quickly so we appreciated that. When we checked out the pool, it was too hot in the pool room and the water was warm so we were disappointed since it would have been nice to have a cool swim with it being so hot outside. On the plus side, management were very nice and helpful. They even compensated us with 2 full meal vouchers for the Tempo restaurant to help make up for everything
Overpriced hotel that is seriously outdated. No air flow in the hallways makes it stifling. Has to shift rooms due to mold effecting my sleep. Just outdated and not maintained to be at the same standard as its formal glory.
Pros
-Great location as very close to the ferry terminal and waterfront.
-Staff are accommodating for late check out
Cons
- Poor maintenance and housekeeping. Old carpet with stains, old blood on sheets, grime on between door jams and baseboard, and ripped window screen.
- Air conditioning not working properly. Unable to cool down on warm day, but staff brought a fan which made it bearable.

No one ever answered the phone. Or could answer my questions. Put me on hold for 20mins
The hotel is tired - carpets, bed mattress creaky- furniture is old and literally looks water damaged or university dorm style- the wallpaper is lifting off walls, shower curtain smelled funky - the rooms are not cleaned everyday- if you are booked for a four night stay the first cleaning and housekeeping you will receive is on day 2 or 3 - I was booked for 6 nights and the rooms was only serviced once. The neighborhood is such that you need to key swipe into the hotel lobby after 8:00pm. For the price - I’d suggest looking elsewhere
Old hotel but clean ! Very convenient location, 5 mins walk to the harbour. They checked us in earlier as we arrived early! And they gave us free check out till 1 pm as our flight was later in the afternoon. Thanks to a wonderful staff!
Ideal location accessible to downtown Halifax. Hotel is older and comfortable. Needs some updates (not modernized) Staff at front desk continually change - so don’t see the same people. Don’t feel connection. Breakfast is not included in stay but next door is the Tempo restaurant which is very good. Great service (and food) there.
Overall the location wins out. A bit overpriced, I expect because of it.
