“The staff were super friendly and accommodating. The rooms were clean. The only issue with the room was that there was condensation in between the window pains so it obstructed the view. Other than that it was nice and comfy. The rooftop was an awesome feature. Sat out there often. We did the hot tub once, it was ok but the jets were almost nonexistent but not terrible. Overall great location and great experience.”

“I recently stayed at The Hollis for 3 nights in Halifax. The check-in was swift and was even welcomed with a warm baked chocolate chip cookie which was a great way to settle in. Reception staff were very pleasant. We were provided a beautiful suite with a waterfront view to the Halifax harbour and enjoyed this view. Unfortunately, the room itself was not as clean as we would have expected: the windows had a layer of dirt and were spotty throughout, curtains had moth holes all over, so, they……

“Great location along Granville & Sackville Streets, just a few short blocks from the waterfront and terrific value for money. Room was clean and though a little small, had all the essentials including a desk with a phone charger and wifi, lots of hooks on the door, as well a cabinet to put away and hang up personal items like clothing. There were several individual bathrooms on each floor and all came with a shower. Each floor has a shared common area with a kitchen and fridge, microwave, etc.……

“Promised a water view and promised to be allowed to check in at 2 pm. When checking in at 5 pm, told there would be a 45 minute wait to get the room ready. To get another room at 5 pm we were put in a non water view room, given free parking and free snacks for compensation for the non water view which we had booked months previously so we could watch sail gp from window. Disappointing for sure. We did appreciate the compensation but kind of ruined our stay not to have the water view.”

“It was OK. The hotel is quite dated. And even though it’s on a lake, there’s no way to walk around the lake. And the first day we were there it was a beautiful morning. We wanted to sit on the patio to have our breakfast and it was closed for no reason at all. Very disappointing. But it was nice to have a view of the lake to just relax and unwind after a busy day or at the beginning of the day with a cup of coffee”
