The Scandic Hamar is a very clean hotel and they offer a good breakfast buffet. The beds were comfortable and the rooms well appointed. What was not so good was the staff and their attitude toward guests. They were not friendly, did not smile or offer a welcoming word. In most interactions, they seemed almost annoyed to be bothered by have to check in guests, answer questions or service the breakfast buffet. I could chalk this up to the standoff-ish Norwegian personality, but even so, they should think about how they treat guests from outside Norway.

Lovely stay! Missed having a fridge & a safe in the room. No tea & coffee in the room only in reception area but have had these in previous Scandic hotels. Room very clean & breakfast good.

the location is great near shopping centre and walkable to the main town by the waterside. staff are friendly and helpful. breakfast was excellent too. downside was room lacks of basic facilities like kettle and no telephone to contact reception if you need something. also no free park on site but was easy enough to park and pay. good for an overnight stay.

Breakfast included a lot and that was great as we are vegetarians and vegans in our family. A not on Hamar as a city - don’t trust google to find restaurants that are opened. Actually found two who had been terminated long ago.

Supert at det lot seg gjøre at vi fikk låne "stuen" bak og koble oss til TVen, så vi fikk sett hockeykamp. Hotellrommene var for varme og det ble veldig dårlig luft i løpet av natta. Ellers kjempefornøyde

Nice hotel, tiny rooms

Hotel is quite new and always very clean. Staff is amazing and very polite. Just a couple of things I faced: 1. The rooms are tiny and have little to no amenities (not even a phone to call reception) and 2.The front desk person didn't want to exchange USD for local currency with no reasonable explanation. This was very inconvenient and disappointing.

Being greeted with a great breakfast is a lovely start to the day. The hotel is centrally located with a large shopping center 300 meters away. Reasonable parking on the other side of the street. Modern room in Nordic style. However, arriving at 3pm and standing in line for 20 minutes to check in because there is only one person at the reception gives a failing grade. When the receptionist has also left the smiley face at home and you feel like a bother when you ask for the taxi's phone number. Yes, then we should thank the cleaners for a clean room, and the chef for a lovely breakfast, but it won't be a full score when the first impression is ruined.
