「This was a 150+ year old pioneer home, with period-appropriate furnishings. The kitchen has been updated to modern appliances. The bathrooms are also updated. The bedrooms have comfortable beds for getting a good night’s sleep.
It is located in a pioneer-era historic area. If you want restaurants nearby, or boutique shopping, forget it. Go with the pioneer atmosphere and experience the location and history. It may give you a whole new outlook about how our ancestors lived.」

「Historic Nauvoo. What a neat little town. Everyone was extremely friendly. The property is good value for the money. If you park on the Main Street, it’s easy to find. The alleyway from the front is level concrete and well lit.
We parked in back as we were instructed. It was a little confusing at first, until I reread the instructions. The concrete alleyway from the back is uneven and not as well lit. But the town is a safe one, so security is already felt.

「To be very honest the property is not what I expected from the listing. However, after getting settled in and the excellent communication with the host, the 6-week stay was very pleasant. 「The air conditioning was not adequate to keep the temperature comfortable. We ran all the window units the whole time we were there, and I don't think the temperature was ever below 80 degrees. If you were sleeping right under the A/C, it was ok, but otherwise it was pretty sweaty. We were pretty dissatisfied with the temperature. Granted, it was cooler than outside, but it wasn't great.」
