Clean, quiet, no frills
It was quiet, there is no staff on duty at night. The check in process to get the key from the lock box was easy but the lock was difficult to open on the room. There is no AC and it was unseasonably warm so it was rather stuffy in the room. The room was basic and very clean. No elevator.

Zentrale, ruhige Lage, gutes Frühstück
Zentrale Lage, dennoch ruhig, großer Supermarkt zum Selbstversorgen in der Nähe, bequeme Betten, zuvorkommender Service, Einrichtung etwas älter, alles sehr sauber, gutes liebevoll arrangiertes Frühstück - insgesamt sehr zu empfehlen!

We got to the property and it was essentially closed. They falsely advertised front desk staffed till 2200h...no body, no light nothing... just a paper sign and a phone number. Key box worked ok. I don’t appreciate staying in unmanned hotels. —but other then that and the lack of real breakfast as advertised. It was clean and neat. Travelocity, needs to work on its accurate descriptions. This hotel is a solid 3, but should not charge high rents for the unsafe neighborhood it is in...

Lieber Gast, vielen Dank für Ihre Bewertung. in der Tat haben wir die Beschreibung noch einmal überarbeitet, da sie doppeldeutig war. Aufgrund der Covid 19 Pandemie praktizieren wir einen kontaktlosen Check in und sind 24 Stunden telefonisch erreichbar. Anstelle des Frühstücksbuffets bieten wir Lunchpakete an. Wir hoffen, das sich das bald ändert und wir Sie dann noch einmal persönlich in unserem Haus empfangen dürfen. :-)

Small family run hotel in Hannover city
This is a small family run hotel. Everything is very clean, the staff is very friendly. You feel a bit like family. The bed was not huge but very comfortable. The desk and chair are good enough for some reading or work but it is not a place where you can work for hours. Internet is fast enough for most things. Great choice. Local area is safe but nothing interesting nearby. But subway station is just around the corner.

Great service, but cold room.
I stayed at the hotel in march 2015. The room was cold most of the time, especially when I got there (window was open). Perhaps a little better after the radiator was turned on. Comfy bed and pillow and everything else one might expect in a normal hotel room, no minibar (only in the lounge) but there was a safe. Now the great part of my stay was the lovely German lady who hosted the breakfast (and the hotel itself I think). She was extremely service minded. I guess it helped that I got to the breakfast room first every morning.

Nice small family hotel.Room was very clean and big enough for two. Large bathroom. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Good continental breakfast. Overall good value for money for a one night stay.

Great little hotel a real gem. Parking limited but free and convenient. Only 10 min walk to main station and 2 min to public transport. Excellent service and room. Pillows could have been more comfortable but this is a very small minus point. Also excellent breakfast and very helpful staff.

Small, quaint, but convenient and comfortable
The Hotel Sparkuhl is just of the Vahrenwalder Strasse, convenient to the city centre (1 tram stop) and to Continental Corporation. The hotel is staffed by friendly people, who try hard to make your stay pleasant (I opted out of breakfast the night before, but was invited to partake nonetheless the next morning as I was leaving). The room I got was small, but quiet and fresh. The bed was suitably comfortable, and for the price, everything was of good value. The decor is a little dated, but in good order, and they've renovated recently, so it's clean and nice looking. Overall, I'd stay again!

Great Location and Hotel
Mid way between two U Bahn stops both less than five minutes walk. Only one further stop down line and you are in the main Hanover Hbf. so ideal for going on day trips around Lower Saxony or to Bremen etc.. Hotel small but very comfortable, single room good size with comfortable and reasonably wide single bed, Breakfast buffet is an extra cost, but well worth the money with good choice of good quality food from cereal to meats and cheese and scrambled eggs and bacon/sausage. Staff very friendly and helpful, would chose this hotel again when I go to Hanover.

Decent hotel, but not so good on a hot night.
Hotel was in a good location if you've taken the car, as its only about 20 mins walk to the centre and there is free parking (albeit limited, we had to park on the street). The receptionist on arrival was very nice and helped us out with the wifi, on the second day out we did get a call at 11.02am to remind us that checkout was eleven (we were just about ready, a few more minutes grace would have been courteous). The room was clean and well kept, coffee making facilities would have been nice though. Our one problem with the room (and fair enough it does state this) was with no AC it was sweltering, I slept and sweated the night with no blanket.

One night for Springsteen concert
I was going to see Bruce Springsteen at the AWD arena in Hanover on the 28th. Normally I'd would have stayed with my wife's Aunt & Uncle who lives in Hanover, but they were away on holiday, so I had to find somewhere else. I looked in Expedia, and all the hotels in Hanover were full, really expensive or miles out of the city. Except for this hotel, which after doing a bit of research, looked ideal for my one night stay. About the 1/3 of the price of all the chain hotels, but with good reviews. I got there at 13:00 and given my key, plus explanation of how to get back in late at night, as reception would be closed when I got back. 10hrs WiFi was free of charge, so perfect for me. My room was immaculately clean, as was the bathroom. New flat screen TV in the room, plus a safe to store my valuables. The U bahn (Werdestasser), is 2 mins walk from the hotel, then it is only one stop to Hanover main station, and then jump across the platform for the U bahn for the Arena. Perfect!!!! Got back after the concert, shut the blinds and fell fast asleep, I was woken by a police siren, but nothing else until 07:30 when I could hear a shower in another room. But I fell back to sleep and missed breakfast! So the place is very quiet, despite being located near a tyre fitting depot. Would I stay there again, yes, no problem. Hopefully I wouldn't miss breakfast next time!

Good hotel for singles and business travellers
This is my usual base whenever I am in Hannover. As usual, an excellent stay. Staff are friendly and helpful. Rooms have recently (July 2012) been redecorated and are clean and comfortable. All rooms are upstairs - no lift. Hotel has Wi-Fi, sometimes free, depending on tariff paid. Breakfast available if required. Hotel is 5 minutes walk from Varenwalder Strasse tram/U-bahn stop, only 2 stops from main station and 3 from city centre (Cheap "Kurzstrecke" ticket for up to 3 stops is €1.50). Hotel is 15 min drive from airport, but is located in a small side street with very limited parking. Located off a main street (Varenwalder Strasse ) in an outer urban residential/shopping area - seems generally safe to walk. Some traffic noise from main road and nearby fire/police station, but not really a problem as rooms are double glazed. Fast food and local shopping along available Varenwalder Strasse. Reception is only open at certain times. If you give an e-mail when booking the hotel will send you a personal number about 5-7 days before travelling to allow you to collect your room/guest entrance key from a key safe at the front of the hotel. Otherwise check with hotel in advance if planning to arrive out of hours. A good hotel for business and singles, particularly if arriving by public transport. Perhaps not so good for familes.

Very good hotel
I stayed there from Oct 8 to Oct 12. The rooms are spacious by european standards. Very clean and very comfortable beds. The staff very friendly and helpful. Breakfast (not included) was very good. The walking distance to the center of town is about 15mns. There is however a subway station 5 mns away from the hotel.

Even though the outside aspect the hotel is poor, located close to a known tire factory, the inside is very clean, with a very cheerful service and umpeccable rooms and bathrooms, even for the economic room. A breakfast a little bit expensive, but of excellent quality and variety.

Haus Sparkl - April 2012
A small hotel located in a quiet street not far from the centre. Covenient for public transport - less than 5 minutes walk to Varenwalder Strasse tram station, which is two stops from the main railway station and three stops from the city centre. A more or less direct drive by car from Hannover airport (@ 15 mins, depending on traffic), but car parking space at the hotel is EXTREMELY limited - Hotel is in a narrow street, with cars parking on both sides. Outside work hours a few parking places are available in the courtyard behind the hotel. Reception is only manned during the day on weekdays and in the mornings at weekends. You must call in advance if arriving outside these hours - check when booking. The room key also opens a separate hotel entrance for guests, so you can some and go when you like. Breakfast is available at extra cost, although I didn't try this. Rooms are comfortable and cleaned daily, with shower, WC, TV and valuables safe. Free Wi-Fi provided - access code number available from reception. Rooms are up a short flight of stairs - there's no lift, so may not be suitable if you have lots of luggage, or can't manage stairs. Not too much noise from main road, but occasional fire engine from nearby station. A good hotel for singles or couples arriving by public transport, but not so good for families driving large car or people carrier. Essential to call if advance if arriving late or at weekends.

Auf der Hotelwebseite wird angegeben, dass ein hoteleigener Parkplatz zur Verfügung steht. Leider waren diese Parkplätze alle belegt, obwohl das Hotel kaum belegt war. Ausweichalternativen konnten durch den Online - Check-In nicht erfragt werden. Das hat leider zur Abwertung geführt.

Für mich war es leider zu laut. Das liegt einfach an der Umgebung des Hotels. Und bei der Hitze fiel die Wahl auf schlecht schlafen wegen Lärm oder schlecht schlafen wegen Hitze im Zimmer. Sonst war das Hotel aber wirklich nett. Das Frühstück war sehr lecker, das Rührei war toll! Eventuell wäre noch eine zusätzlicher veganer Brotaufstrich schön für Leute die weder Käse noch Wurst essen. Die Körnerbrötchen waren leider etwas trocken, die Auswahl an Müsli war großartig! Das Highlight des Aufenthalts ist aber der Service. Die nette Dame am Empfang und beim Frühstück war wirklich so so freundlich und hat sich um alles sehr herzlich gekümmert. Vielen Dank dafür.

Sehr unkompliziert und nett! Ich habe mich sehr wohl gefühlt, es war sauber; alles Notwendige war da. Ich habe mich über zwei Kopfkissen (flach und groß) besonders gefreut, weil ich es mir zum Schlafen wirklich gut einrichten konnte. Die U-Bahn -Station ist 2-3 Geheminuten entfernt, es ist sehr praktisch. Das Frühstück habe ich wg. Zeitmangel nicht bestellt.
