The Inn is old so being a bit dated is fine. I would suggest better entry directions and parking directions. The plated breakfast by LEO was superb, so a special thanks to her. I am atgempting the baked french toast tomorrow morning.

I am writing this review based on Room 3. We were very disappointed with the room for many reasons, so much so, we checked out after one night with no expectation of a credit for the unused night. The room and bath are very dated, the bathroom shower curtain is held up with PVC, the toiletries were minimal, the bed creaked with the slightest movement keeping both myself and spouse awake most of the night, the furniture is mismatched and dated, the freezer was frosted over, the coffee was an open can of Folgers and the "bottle water" was tap water in a carafe, there was no hillside view as mentioned, and the room was an attic room up 3 flights of stairs and difficult to maneuver. For future travelers, I would pay caution before booking with The LIghthorse Inn.

This is a lovely place to stay. Our morning cook was helpful and affable. The food was tasty and generous. The inn is within walking distance of so many curious highlights and shops as well as historic sites. The room I had was spacious and well maintained. An overall pleasant experience.

Breakfast was excellent. The room we had was a little difficult for people approaching 80. Staircase was very narrow, and the hall way light would not stay on. I would stay there again, but not in suite #3.

The Inn was a pleasant place to stay. Not too far from what we wanted to do and see. Take a right from the Inn’s parking lot behind the building and you’ll run right into the NPS visitor center where continuous shuttles run every 15 minutes to the lower part of town. Hard to park there so the shuttle was best for us. The morning breakfast freshly cooked and coffee or tea was perfect to start the day off before the mild to strenuous hilly hikes in old town and by the river. Walk up and down the cobble streets, and through some of the establishments to a higher road (like Coach House Bar & Grill). The best part was the steep hike up the rock steps to St. Peter’s Church. It overlooks the town, railroad station, rivers and NP. Go all the way up past the ruins to Jefferson Rock. Amazing. Just a lot to do and see from the Inns central location. Even went to karaoke on Tuesday night. The bed was nice, the sitting chair not so nice. Shower great, sink faucet in our room for hot water a mere trickle. Said they take care of it. Bring a small radio, no tv. iPhone music and my headset came in handy.
