Very quiet since it's isolated from the Maillet hamlet.
In the middle of the fields. So we slept very well.
The garden was lovely, very green and flowery.
The outdoor table and chairs were new. We could put them in the shade to eat outside sometimes when it was not raining or not too hot.
There were lots of cooking utensils, plates, glasses...
The washing machine is new and efficient.
The cottage seemed clean and tidy.
Fresh flowers in a vase.
The beds were clean. The bedrooms quite neat.
The furniture was solid and rustic, quite nice and cosy.
But sadly we had a few technical pbs, for example :
the tv was not receiving properly, although it is free
we were not shown how to light the gas oven
the occasionnal smell of the sceptic tank was unpleasant
the owners did not like to communicate with us by sms,
they answered me with another phone by voice message so I never got it as I did not know their 2nd number
the old wood stove in the kitchen was extremely dirty : my sponge came out black, stained forever
On arrival I had to clean all the surfaces in the kitchen, the dining room, my bedroom as they were either sticky or dusty
the general maintenance seemed a bit basic and minimal : I took some photos of some mouldy corners in various rooms of the cottage. I keep them at your disposal if you're interested.
It's a very nice old stone house left to rot in places instead of renovating it properly.
There's room for improvement.
But maybe we are too demanding & difficult.
