The house keeper forgot to clean our room and there was no one to clean the room but the reception team was helpful and provided us a spare towels.

Wonderful Old Prison redone in a modern and cool way. Rooms are great and located in an area that is walking distance to many attractions. Uber was a great way to get around to the further out of the way areas.

Good location for visiting Helsinki
A great hotel with an interesting history. Brilliantly placed, Tram #4 stops right outside, Viking ferry is a 5 minute walk, great if you're arriving from or travelling in to Tallnn. City centre is an easy walk too. Great buffet breakfast

The hotel is in walkable distance to the port ( about a 15 min walk). It is in a quite part of town, there is a trolley right in front for Helsinki transport ( if you are aware of how to use it). Front desk staff very helpful and friendly

The hotel was amazing, clean rooms, very polite staff, amazing location. The breakfast had nice traditional Finnish bakery items, good Nespresso coffee and tasty pancakes among other things. Only issue was the rooms were a bit smaller than I thought.

Wonderful few days in Helsinki
Great breakfast! Room was spacious and clean. Really liked the overall environment and the history of the building. Easy access to the waterfront and city centre.

The hotel is a remodeled prison, and it's very well done. The rooms are small, but have everything you need. The staff was very helpful and the breakfast buffet had a great variety of food. The location is several blocks from Market Square, but it's on a tram line for getting around Helsinki.

This was an amazing hotel. Very affordable for the quality you receive. One of the best morning breakfasts I’ve ever received at a hotel. They have top chefs there and do a great job. Last thing, you’re literally in an old prison. One of the coolest hotels I’ve stayed at so far in my life.

Escape the ordinary & Stay here
Old prison converted into boutique hotel, the yes if want to escape the ordinary this is the place to stay. Staff was very courteous knowing that it's my daughter's birthday they upgraded my room. They did allowed us early check in too. The property is very interesting, they have still kept 2 original cells in their actual condition to let visitors know the history. Very interesting collection of photographs too at the stairs. The restaurant really looked very cozy and nice though didn't tried their food. Tram no 4 from straight away goes on the gate of the hotel. Harbour is just on a walking distance so very nice location. Good luck to team Hotel Katanjokka 👍

Breakfast at Euro20 per head is a bit expensive. Take Tram 4 can go directly from Central Station back to hotel is convenience. If you have time, you can walk to the church and past through the bridge and reach the harbour then take ferry to other island.

Location is great. Short walk from the cruise ships, tram ride just outside the gate. Vintage!!! A prison turned into a great hotel. Excellent food and service, very comfortable rooms. The best stay in town.
