"The property was tastefully appointed. The decks/front porch being in the country were covered in cobwebs-may require a power wash prior to guests staying. The 4th bedroom/landing was not private but a common space. We made it work. Floors were sandy upon arrival. Again, being in the country there were dead roaches in the main living area and master bedroom. “Rules” abound to the tune of 25 at each infraction which were not discussed prior to booking. The lake levels were down but we made it work with the sandy beach-the lake was low, There was a burn ban at the time-again no one’s fault due to dry conditions. When leaving, the owner expects all towels to be placed in the washer and the washer started. All bedding except mattress covers, blankets, and bedcovers should be placed in the laundry room. All dishes should be placed in the dishwasher and started, nothing should be left in the sink. That’s all pretty standard. The owner also stated that if there was any cleaning required beyond normal (undefined) there would be a 50.00/hr cleaning fee charged with a 1 hour minimum. We cleaned up after ourselves and carried recycling home because that’s what we do. 2 kitchen trash bags allotted including the trash we cleaned up from the lake-it happens, and 2 rolls of toilet per restroom for 5 days of 7 people. Having a backup 4 pack would go a long way to customer satisfaction."
