"We loved our stay here, a beautiful quiet hotel sat on the outskirts of the town with deer on the grassy slopes around the patio. Very clean and tidy interior, lovely staff and comfortable quiet room. We were able to walk everywhere from the hotel, the main deer park is easily accessible and we walked to and from the station with a wheeled suitcase through the alleyways without too much issue. Would definitely return here."

"It is a converted home of a merchant. 125 years-old. Great yard/garden and great location."

"We loved the 2nd floor lounge that guests had access to, even though our room was a generous size. It was equipped with toasters, microwave, filtered water, soft drinks, and hot drinks. Our breakfast was delivered to our room each day in little bento boxes - we chose to eat in the aforementioned lounge. The hotel has a wonderful modern Japanese vibe, the rooms were very stylish. The on-site Onsen was very nice after a long day sightseeing. The hotel is very conveniently located for very easy access to Nara Park adjacent to Sarusawa Pond. There is even a Starbucks on site for those need it (even though there’s free coffee upstairs)."

"All visitors must take a day or two and stay at the visitor center, they offer lots of activities and the staff is great. Overall a full package."

"The air conditioning is on fan mode, as the information on the TV reflected. But that made the room really stuffy. Granted, it's autumn, and weather is cold outside, but having fan mode in an enclosed space is really not conducive for a good rest. We have to keep the window slightly open to regulate the tempreture, which works thankfully. Otherwise, everything else is good!"

"A highlght from our trip. If you can, definitely stay here at least one night, instead of doing a day-trip to Nara (more time if you can spare it!) The hotel and staff are just fantastic. This gives you an idea of what you can expect from a hotel that receives foreign and local dignitaries and heads of state. Walking distance from the park/ landmarks and also restaurants and shopping nearby. The room itself was ample (more than you will probably see in your whole stay in Japan) with modern rooms incorporated into a fantastic historic building. "
