A view worth everything
The house was perfect for our large family vacation. Had everything we needed. We even had a stay in BBQ dinner night and found everything we needed to make a full meal for 13 people. The view of the Ocean had my 5 year old wanting to sleep on the porch and will be the thing I’ll miss the most. The house is located close enough to downtown Hilo and all the shopping and then right across the street from great swimming, we saw sea turtles-a-plenty and also saw whales jumping in the distance. The wild chickens were a hoot to watch clucking around for food and crossing the road to get to the park. If I had to nitpick (and I do mean nitpick because the place is great)… I wish there was more lounge type seating on the balconies. There were plenty chairs but like my son, I wanted to have a nap on that porch. It’s everything they say it is. Mahalo.

30th Birthday Bliss
This home made my 30th Birthday a dream come true. It was clean, beautiful and was in the perfect location. The BEST snorkeling is literally right across the street. We saw so many turtles! Book this home if you want a serene vacation surrounded by nature.

Perfect for a large family
Beautiful house in a beautiful location. The location was perfect as it was right across the street from a beach park. It did get pretty busy and noisy on the weekends but that is to be expected. Throughout the week it was very quiet and serene. The views from the main living area and lanai are spectacular. I would get up early just to watch the sunrise. I was pleasantly surprised to find that several of the bedrooms had views and small decks off of them, including one of the back rooms. There were ample bedrooms and bathrooms for our family of eight which allowed us each our own spaces. I didn't think we needed two separate kitchens but it ended up being helpful. I used the back kitchen to cook breakfast early in the morning so I wouldn't be walking over the other bedrooms. Everything was fully stocked so that there was nothing that we needed including stuff for the beach. All we needed to do is stop at the local grocery store on the way in. We very much enjoyed our stay hope that we can return soon.

House in Paradise
We are a party of nine, three generations, and we all enjoyed our stay so much! The spaces we have is more than what we need as the house can sleep up to 16. Check in was easy. There were plenty of amenities provided. We walked every morning exploring the beach and snorkel every afternoon and evening. Thank you so much for opening you house to us.

Fantastic Family Getaway
This home had everything we needed for a wonderful week of family fun!! Perfect location right across the street from two beach parks and easy drives to local attractions. Amazing views! So much room for our four generations to spend time together and yet have separate time when needed. The host was very responsive. The house was well supplied.

Great family get together
This location was perfect for all of our family to stay in one place while exploring the Hilo area. Lots of bedrooms, bathrooms and a large gathering area. We didn't get to use any of the water equipment available to us because it rained most of our stay, but there's lots there to use and great tide pools and protected areas across the street.

We had 3 families, 11 people total, 2 children 3 & 8. The ability to have our own family spaces and the adult children their own beds, was so valuable. We joined together when desired and could be on our own as desired. The patio windows that opened up completely to the lanai was where we always gathered. Beautiful view from the lanai, just like the picture on vrbo. So impressed with how well everything was stocked and such variety of items available to us from the kitchen tools to linens, including first aid kits in every bathroom. This was so much like home, and we certainly didn't want to leave. The beach items available kept us constantly entertained. Thank you for such a wonderful place!

Great House in a Great Location
We had 3 generations together for the holiday and this house was perfect for us. Lot's of Bedrooms (6), bathrooms galore, 2 kitchens, 2 Washer/Dryers, 2 nice family rooms, a great open air deck for everybody to hang out and watch the ocean. It had everything we needed. The only thing we missed was we would have liked to watch one big rain storm like you always hear about in Hilo, but in 11 days it only drizzled for a couple hours :)

Beautiful location
Great location with best snorkeling ever, just across the street. House was large and provided great views. Property manager is very accommodating and responsive. Hilo and area is amazing. Hilo is very very humid, we had 84% humidity and 80 degrees most days so it is MUGGY during months with higher temps. When searching for rentals we required air conditioning as one of our search screens and this home pops up. There is one wall unit for a very large house. Has no impact on cooling. Things are a little moist inside. Just be careful in hot months. Otherwise we really liked the place.

The house has a 3.5 ton unit for the upstairs living room. It is the right size for 1,800 sq. ft (the total upstairs), but it obviously would require one to close all the windows. I'm guessing that wasn't done. Of course, if you come home and it is open and hot inside, it will take time to make a difference. But it is not an undersized unit. But I agree, Hawaii in summer is hot and humid, similar to south Florida.

Best Family vacation house we’ve been too!
Check-in process was super simple. There were tons of beds, more beds than we had people for. I liked that the living room was open and spacious. Living right across the beach, what more could you ask for. Would definitely stay here again.

Our group was a multigenerational family who had the pleasure of vacationing in this beautiful house. It was well appointed with absolutely everything we needed including the best location possible - right across from the most amazing black sand beach and snorkeling spot. We loved the spaciousness. With 5 bedrooms and 5 baths, we never felt like we were bumping into each other. The snorkels, floats, boards, and other water equipment that were provided were a definite plus. We also loved the way that the house could be opened up to allow the beautiful ocean breezes in. Never needed heating or cooling to be turned on, the entire week.

Ideal for large families!
This is a fantastic house! The pictures don’t do it justice. Beautifully furnished and supplied with every comfort. Two well-stocked kitchens, two washer/dryers, toys, towels, a plethora of beds and bedding, a table that seated us all, even shampoo and supplies! And you absolutely cannot beat the location. We snorkeled with turtles and swam in the cold fresh water pools every day. Enjoyed the rain, the breeze and the ocean waves at night. We hope to return and make more amazing memories. It's like the rain forest cafe!
After a less than fun travel day, we arrived many hours behind schedule and after dark. The sound of the surf across the road accompanied with the birds chirping in the trees, it was as my daughter said like the rain forest cafe. Completely relaxing The next morning the view was great way to start our vacation Great location 10 minutes from the airport, or Safeway or downtown Hilo. This was a great house for our family

Awesome location for snorkeling in Hilo
We loved our 5 days at this big house in Hilo. Every day we did an excursion, followed by snorkeling and fishing at the beach across the street. The house was well equipped with snorkel gear, kayaks, paddle boards, kitchen accessories, etc. PFDs would be a nice addition. We did not use the AC, although there is a unit in the great room. Highly recommend for a group that wants an authentic (not resort-like) Hawaii experience.

Lovely large beach house with great location
We had a lovely time staying in this house in Hilo. We would've stayed here longer if time had allowed. There were 7 of us, and there was plenty of room. The views were great, and it has great access to several parks and places to snorkel within close walking distance. I believe when we searched for VRBO listings and entered air conditioning in our filters, this one popped up as one with air conditioning. At the time we were there, the A/C was not working or not available. I mention this in case this is an issue for some people-you may want to check on this. The lack of A/C didn't actually effect our stay since it was cool enough with the many fans and windows open. It was quite comfortable and nice to have the ocean breeze.

This was a great house with lots of open space to accommodate our family of 10. Minutes away from markets, restaurants and downtown. Across the road is a park like area where you can go in the ocean. The large dining table fully accommodated our family at meal times. Plenty of full baths so multiple people can take showers and get ready. The host was very responsive, courteous and respectful at all times. It would have been nice to have a lounge chair on the deck to read a book or take a nap. Go to sleep with the sounds of the Coqui frogs and wake up to the neighborhood rooster each morning. Lol

This home was exactly as advertised. Our extended family had plenty of room as well as privacy as needed. I believe it is one of the very best locations on the Island. Only negative is we had to leave… I definitely highly recommend .

Family Fun on the Beach Front
We rented this house for an extended family of 19 ranging in ages from 5 to 85. Seriously our oldest person there was my father-in-law and he's 85. We all had a blast and truly enjoyed both the location close to beaches and town. The place was tastefully decorated and made for a great photo shoot with an outside photoqrapher highered by my sister-in-law.

Fun Location and House
We're a multi-generational family of 12 (all adults) who stayed at this property in June. It’s practically a brand new house at only a year old and it shows. Everything was new, clean and well stocked. The construction of the house is interesting in that it is obviously built to be a rental home. There are lockable doors dividing the north and south sides of the house so it can be split in half and rented to 2 separate parties. This means if you rent the whole house then you have two sets of everything…2 kitchens, 2 laundry areas, 2 balconies, etc. When we stayed in June, the weather was 75-85 deg F and we were glad there was air conditioning. The house can get extremely hot and we’re from Arizona where the temps can get to over 115 F in the summer. AC is only upstairs and only in the big kitchen area. This meant the bottom floor stayed pretty hot, even at night with the windows open. Thankfully there were a lot of fans provided and on the second day, we set them up to provide circulation from the top floor to the bottom floor. You have to aim a big fan down 1 set of stairs to the bottom floor and aim another fan up the other set of stairs to the top floor. This will create a loop of current taking cold air down and hot air up. We basically kept the air conditioner and fans going 24 hours a day, although by the morning, the upstairs got a little cold. By doing this, the temperature downstairs was fine. The location was awesome! The kayaks, paddle boards and snorkel gear came in handy and the whole family had a lot of fun there. Being our first visit to Hilo and not knowing what to expect, driving to the house was a little disconcerting at first. You have to drive through an area that’s not exactly picturesque, stereotypical Hawaii that you see in TV commercials. This is located near the airport and seaport so this area is how the real people of Hawaii live. We got over it quickly. The area around the house itself is awesome! Speaking of the airport, when I booked the house, I was worried that the noise of the airplanes taking off and landing were going to be a problem. It was not. I don’t think I even heard a plane while we were at the house and only noticed 1 or 2 when we were in town. Richard responded quickly to text messages and addressed all concerns ASAP. We highly recommend this house and we would stay there again.

A slice of Paradise
This home was everything we thought it would be. Great location. If your looking for a good spot for family photos as we did, look no further than right across the street. Super friendly neighbors, mom and pop eateries no more than 7 mins away by car and a home that easily accommodated a group of 13 with ease. We will most certainly return here again as we leave here today with very fond memories.

Lovely vacation house!
This is a beautiful house in a lovely site across the street from the beach. Our entire family spent 6 days in this house. There were as many children (8) as adults (8) in our family so we had an active time. On rainy days in HIlo we drove west to beaches but otherwise we just enjoyed being in the water. The main kitchen was well stocked with utensils to prepare foods and the washer and dryer were a bonus! Beach towels were also available. This is a great vacation house!

Amazing house. Best vacation rental I've had
No other house has both the best location and the nicest house. It is an amazing house. Six bedrooms for privacy with a huge living room overlooking Richardson's Beach park. Bikes, kayaks, large kitchen, seating outside overlooking the ocean. We hated to leave for the day to go out. Just minutes from Downtown. Everything is nice and new. We toured the waterfalls, downtown attractions, lava caves and museums (Lyman museum is great). On days "off" we snorkeled across the street using the equipment at the house. Great black sand beach. Saw a number of turtles. We will certainly be back. Thanks Richard for a great stay!

Best location in Hilo. Directly across the street from kid-friendly beach with protected pools for swimming, snorkeling, watching turtles and tide pool exploring. House has almost everything you need so you don't have to worry about toiletries. Plenty of room for the group to hang out together, and enough room for everyone to get quiet time too, if wanted. Lots of toys & equipment for use at the beach, plus snorkels and lava shoes for everyone, beach towels. Plenty of parking to match, too. The only thing missing in the kitchen was a wine opener (but we bought one & left it there, so you're all set!).
