Since we are both healthcare workers imbedded in COVID work, we needed a quiet place and minimal interaction. Call it PTSD, but we just wanted to be left alone. Check in was contact less. Perfect!
Of course I had to inspect the kitchen. Some of the utensils had food residue- a knife that had the type of residue when you don't pre rinse, then run it through the dishwasher and the butter residue remains; a teaspoon that clearly appeared to have been used for tea or coffee and left to dry then put away. Since I didn't feel like I could trust the flatware to be clean, I rinsed it before use, same with cups. My idiosyncrasy. Otherwise, the kitchen was fine.
I was pleased that we didn't have to deal with a bedspread. Sheets were soft. Pillows with plenty of options. The bed was soft but not in the way that hurts your back. Robes were a nice touch.
We walked out to the end of the dock to check out the river, but since we had arrived during the dreaded sand fly invasion, we were forced back.
We had purchased wood for fire. We saved it for the final night and had our s'mores instead of dinner. The fire kept the sand flies away and we had a lovely evening, minus the dogs and guests next door.
The choices for television were like home. The AC was great.
When I mentioned a problem with a light switch, Cookie was ready to fix it immediately. Since it really didn't impact our enjoyment of the place, we opted to have her wait until we had departed.
Highly recommend.
