Escape to Devil House, a secluded 2-bedroom retreat atop Mt Rumney in Tasmania’s bushland. Enjoy stunning views, wildlife encounters, and a peaceful atmosphere. This self-contained home offers modern comforts with off-grid living. Enjoy a true nature experience with tank water, greywater, solar panels, and generators. Perfect for stargazing and relaxation in a tranquil environment, just 14km from Hobart CBD.

Set on 150 acres of bushland, Devil House is cozy and fully equipped. It features 2 bedrooms with a king bed (or 2 king singles) and queen bed, plus a queen sofa bed. Enjoy heating for comfort in all seasons. The property is off-grid, using tank water, greywater, solar power, and gas. Expect gravel roads, insects, and native wildlife like wallabies and eagles—part of the full bushland experience.

Guests have full access to the self-contained house, including the kitchen, bathroom, lounge, and deck. Free Wi-Fi and Netflix are available. Enjoy ample parking for cars, vans, or caravans. Explore the walking trails, meet farm animals, or visit Seven Mile Beach nearby. Self-check-in is easy with detailed instructions sent prior to arrival. We ask guests to be mindful of water and energy use due to the off-grid setup.

We respect your privacy, but we are just a text or call away for any assistance. Self-check-in ensures a smooth arrival. Our family is on-site and available if you need anything during your stay. Absolutely beautiful location, great communication from the hosts and neat and clean accomodation. Highly recommend. Just watch out for the nearly 4WD condition track in lol.
