Perfect Large Family Vacation!

Excellent property in great shape, comfortable inside and out, excellent location and wonderful host! Adequate and comfortable furniture throughout! Great kitchen accessories, pool toys and deck furniture! All 15 people agreed that the stay was thoroughly enjoyed by each and every one!

The house is beautiful and the location was perfect. It was clean when we arrived but were surprised to have to make the beds! There were plenty of activities for the kids at the house and many things to do in walking distance! I would definitely return

Growing family vacation!!

This house was amazing! My 4 kids, spouses and 7 grandchildren all were comfortable in the house - everyone had privacy and lots of opportunities to be together. The pool was a life saver!! The surf was a little rough this week - so the pool was awesome for the younger kids and of course we all jumped in!

Great vacation home!

Very short walk to the beach, beds were all comfortable, kitchen was fully stocked, pool was great. Walking distance to pier, restaurants and shops. Would definitely stay here again!

Perfect for large family!

This is the second year in a row we have stayed here and we have already booked for next year! If you need anything during your stay, Ted is ready to help! The location is so perfect - walkable to the pier and restaurants - easy beach access across the street- and the pool is great for those who don't want to deal with the sand. The kitchen porch is covered so a perfect place to have your morning coffee and look at the ocean. Thank you, Ted!

Beautiful home in a great location

Super nice home with plenty of space for our large family reunion group to spread out while still getting together for meals and socializing. Backyard with pool, plenty of seating and grills is your mini-resort! Beach access right across the street and restaurants and shops within walking distance. Spacious elevator from ground to the third floor - a necessity for mobility challenged guests and big help during arrival and departure. Host was easy to communicate with by text and very responsive and helpful. Highly recommended!

Amazing Stay at Southern Comfort

We just returned from a week's stay at Southern Comfort in Surf City, and all we can say is WOW! Ted Waltz (the host) was friendly, informative and accommodating; he was prompt in answering all of our questions, and made himself available if we had any issues during our stay. The house was absolutely beautiful, and almost everything from grocery store, to restaurants, to ice cream/coffee shops, and to beach shops was within walking distance from the house. The water views from front and back of the house were gorgeous as well! Thank you Ted -- we would highly recommend your house and your hospitality!

Family vacation

This was the first time tacking the whole family, kids and grandkids on a family vacation together, everyone had a great experience, for some members of the family it was there first time to the ocean, we watched sunrises and sunsets, we watched dolphins every day we were there, everything was in walking distance, so we never got back in our vehicles until it was time to leave. overall, the best vacation experience we could have asked for, as a matter of fact my husband and i asked to stay an extra night to enjoy the sunset and sunrise on the deck again. The pool and hot tub area was wonderful and cleaned there was even a pool cleaner there about every morning to make sure everything was still in good clean shape.

Family vacation was great! There were a few issues one being not as clean as we expected. The pool was unusable for the entire week which was very disappointing. Location is great and had the right amount of beds for our family. Overall, a good experience!

Wife's 59th bday - Perfect family getaway

We stayed here for my wife's 50th bday. We had all the kids plus grand kids..12 total. There are plenty of beds and rooms to unwind in. Almost everyone had a balcony. The front porch was the main hang out since we could see the ocean. There are plenty of chairs on the decks. The kitchen was fully stocked with everything you would need. It is a very short walk to the beach and into town. The pool was perfect to end the day in and there are plenty of pool toys. I would highly recommend this house. Ted was a great host and very responsive. Thank you for making this a vacation to remember.

First Time at Surf City

Overall our stay was very good. The pool area and pool was a hit and where we spent the majority of our time. The home is very convenient to coffee, donuts, restaurants and easy walk to the playground. Easy access to the beach although a lot of steps. The owner of this home is extremely welcoming, helpful and immediate response to any issues and questions. He even turned on the heat for the pool as he was concerned it was too chilly at night and pool might not be enjoyable. As described, the beds are extremely comfortable. The beds are a bit high if you are short. Again, the owner was very responsive when we asked if he had a stepstool. He had a "safe" step delivered in a day. The house overall was well equipped. The elevator was an absolute blessing. The decks are huge and plenty of room for sitting as well as room for the kids to play. It was a great home for grandparents, parents and grandchildren as it met all of our needs.

The property is as described with lots to enjoy. The host is very responsive and shares information to make your stay enjoyable. The main floor furniture is very nice and all of the outdoor furniture is very good quality. The home has easy access to the beach and many wonderful shops, stores and eateries are within walking distance. Three of the four bedrooms on the same floor share a bathroom which was a little inconvenient for our particular group. Also, some of the guests mentioned “sinking into” the mattresses. While some guests enjoyed them, others with back issues found sleeping somewhat uncomfortable. The pool needed cleaned and the host was quick to respond. Although the pool got serviced every other day, it didn’t actually get Cleaned. There were indications that are issues with the filter, which left bugs floating ion top of the water. Despite that, it wasn’t too bad and we still enjoyed the pool. The backyard area was spacious and we enjoyed the large number of seating options and tables. All of the positive descriptions about the house are accurate, however some guests may find the additional information helpful. Overall, we all enjoyed our stay and appreciated the communication with our host.

Great family beach retreat

Our family of 19 people (2 seniors, 9 adults, 8 kids ages 1-14) stayed for the perfect summer beach week. Ted the owner was very responsive to any concerns, location was close to the beach, beds very comfortable, room for everyone.
