The room was not very clean. Dirty windows closets and dirty bathroom that smelled. But at least the beds were clean and a good size. The location is convenient since it is walking distance from a few hk attractions and the wan chai MTR station and lots of food places. Overall good enough for a night or two, not for long.

Good location, but not the best place for rest.
I like the location of this hotel. Walking distance to the shopping centers, bus stops, MTR station in Causeway Bay. But the bed is horrible. It was like lying down on the floor. For the price, the room is pretty clean but seriously really couldn't get any restful sleep during my stay. I've stayed in cheaper hotels with a more decent bed

Tuff out the hard bed, happy wallet !
So, as most reviews will say beds are hard. Yes it is true, beds are like sleeping on a box spring with sheets. With that said, staff are very nice, hotel is older, but they keep it as clean as possible. For a short stay and you are looking for something that is reasonable, it is not bad. We did three nights. If you need a place to crash while you are out and about and enjoy HKG, go for it. Room was quiet on the 19th floor. Priced right, so good on budget. Wi-fi worked fine.

It is considered an average hotel for HKG standard. But the air-conditioning is too noisy. Luckily the room is cooling enough without having the aircon since it is winter season. Not recommend to stay during summer season.

Hotel near Wan Chai
Good location, 10 min walk from the Subway, many different restaurants. a good place fr the head to hit the pillow. The room is compact, every sqaured inch of it is utilized, yet there is still place for luggage storing. Not to convenient, yet a reasonable return for the fare.

Our stay was quite comfortable despite the hard bed because the extra comforter that we put on top made up for it. Also, the requested extra pillows that were also immediately provided helped. The WiFI has a lot to be desired though. The location is accessible to transportation that enabled us to move around easily without having to walk far. Food shops are also nearby. We can stay again in this hotel if given the chance to travel again in Hongkong.

Reception on 11th floor . . . but then it was HK. Bed was hard as rock . . . woke each morning with sore back. Room was cleaned but drinking glasses were never washed. Initial room shown was on 13th floor and bed right up against window . . . my wife could not accept this and a room on the 11th floor was made available immediately. The shower door could not close properly and repair man worked on it . . . but was unable to correct it . . . so we had to be careful where we directed the shower hose.

Cons: Room floors weren't cleaned very well. Obvious dust can be seen as well as random hair and dirt. Some of the lights don't work. Flickers sometimes. Noisy at night especially when people walk along the corridor. The lift smells like cigarettes as it services the floor that leads to a karoake center and mahjong parlour. Bathroom doors don't lock. Occasionally doesn't close since it's automatic door. If you are planning to keep your luggage at the lobby after checkout or before check-in, the hotel charges HKD10 PER LUGGAGE ITEM. Take note! Pro: Good location. Near Times Square, Causeway Bay. Near tram station.

Wonderful location in full center of whamchai. Very close to the Exhibition Center, that can be reached walking in 5/7 minutes. Not elegant hotel but clean.

This should not be called a hotel. It is a hostel. Rooms are small and dirty. It is terrible.

If you want sleep don't come here
Firstly the hotel is in the same building as the pub, karaoke, mahjong and snooker venues. It constantly smells like smokes and the lift takes forever to get to your floor and back down. reception is not friendly at all. The bathroom drains do not work properly so you're constantly stepping in water in the shower. the worst is the noise. it is constantly noisy throughout the whole night you hear the lifts, the cleaners, upstairs room clanging around. the walls and doors are paper thin and you hear everything. one of the worst places we have ever stayed in and will not be back. in terms of price, very shocking for what its worth. we booked and a week later the prices dropped by 1/3. this place is more of a hostel than 'hotel'. walking to causeway bay mtr is closer than wan chai but it was still a good 10mins walk.

Honestly, you're not coming here for luxury. If you want that, go to the Excelsior down the street. You come the Hong Kong King's Hotel because it's a place to sleep it off after a night in Wanchai, and because it's fairly close the Hong Kong Stadium. I don't know from experience, but I'm told that if you pick up a female visitor in Wanchai, you can bring her back to your room without any problems. The bed was very hard, the food is not that great, and it's only about a 7 of 10 on the cleanliness scale. HOWEVER, it's cheap, it's just close enough to walk to everything you want to get to, and there is a bed and shower ready to go. You don't come to Hong Kong just to stay in your hotel room all day, anyway.

Sad story in Wanchai
The hotel was rated at 3 stars but it was disappointing in every way. It badly needed remodeling and our room included a live roach! The bed didn't have a mattress - only a box spring (really hard). Don't let the high price of a room here make you think it is a good hotel - you'd be better off in a hostel. Enjoy Hong Kong and stay away from the King's Hotel!

random kids came in the hotel and played with lift
IT was absolutely HORRIBLE...this hotel allowed us some random kids in their 20s to come in the hotel..they were playing with the 3 lifts!! My sis in law and mum waited 20 minutes for the LIFT to come down and ended up they walked up to the 15th floor! i called the hotel to complain and they said YES THEY ARE DEALING with it!! VERY Bad in handling this situation!!! will NOT recommend any of us to choose this hotel~!!!

Best hotel for smokers!
We stayed in the family room for 4 nights, 2 adults and a 5 year old. Relatively spacious for HK hotels standard, which was the only good point. Room smells of cigarette, the lifts smell of cigarette, everywhere in the hotel smells of cigarette! They provided the smoking ashtray right outside the hallway of our room so everytime someone stands there smoking waiting for the lift, the smell gets into our room. The wifi was free but was unreliable. We complained about the internet but it didn't improve. The condition of the electric kettle provided in the room was horrifying as the plastic made material disintegrates and the plastic residue from the kettle mixed in the water. We brought this up and was provided with a better looking stainless steel made electric kettle. Overall, we didn't enjoy our stay here.

The Hotel is right around the corner from the Bus to the HK airport which cost $40 HK. A taxi driver quoted us $600 HK from before so we saved some money. The location is also very convenient to the rail line and a few good places to eat.
