We enjoyed our stay at Waikiki Sunset. Although the interior was a bit dated, everything we needed was provided, like kitchen utensils, washer and dryer on our floor, coffeemachine, beach chairs.

Just what you need.

It's the perfect spot for a family looking to explore the island. The condo had everything we needed was super close to the best beach in the US. If you find problems with the place you didn't go to enjoy the big island.

This is a very old building with dingy hallways in the main corridor and sub par air conditioning. The amenities are not bad - there is a pool and decent gym and play area. The unit is very small! We had to put luggage in kitchen and in den area as the bedrooms could barely accommodate them. The location is not bad just a few blocks from Waikīkī beach. As long as you understand what you are getting for the price - the pictures do not show how small the unit is.

Non-working Refrigerator The Entire Stay!!!

GOOD: ​A view of Diamond Head​ and the ocean. Oh​,​ so nice to stare at the waves. If you ​w​ant ​t​o spend a lot of time ​a​t​ a rental just to relax, you will enjoy this one. ​A kitchen ​​is a definite​ plus to prepare a meal or snack. BAD: On the first day, the refrigerator ​did not work. I called​ property manager Byron​ and he promised a repair person would be ​t​here the next day​. ​In anticipation of the repair, we brought food back to our rental place ​the next day, but ​no one came and the fridge still ​d​idn't work​ed. ​During the week, we received repeated assurance that it would be repaired. To make ​a long story short, the refrigerator was never fixed.​ the only consolation was that Byron gave us a cooler and a bag of ice. UGLY: I asked Byron if we could be compensated for ​t​his major inconvenience for not having a working refrigerator for the ENTIRE stay. ​W​e initially got a verbal response that he w​ould immediately refund ​u​s 25% of the rental​, ​​but no refund credit ​ever ​appeared on my account even after multiple inquiries. ​Just like the refrigerator repair, we were given a bunch of empty promises. ​ Bottom line: If there were no refrigerator problems, this unit would have been acceptable. I give it this unit 1 star for not resolving the refrigerator issue (as of today) and 4 stars for the view.
