The newer sections of this property are better. We had a king room with river view. It was very clean and functional in everything. Even has a balcony with chairs! The grounds are beautiful, as are the grounds of the two neighboring properties. It’s not walkable to town or shopping. The Gorge Hotel has an unremarkable restaurant next door. So bring some snacks. Staff are friendly. Do not be put off by the simplicity of the office. This is a comfortable place with a nice vibe, a view, places for pets and adorable gardens with ducks right next door.

This is a great family-run hotel. The history of the hotel is interesting! My room was cery clean, the staff was so friendly, helpful, and professional. I love that its pet friendly. The grounds are beautiful with an incredible view of the Columbia River. Will definitely stay again!

The grounds were very well landscaped and taken care of, lots of flowers and blooming trees. The unit was very clean with crisp bedding. Bathroom was clean and shinny, as was the rest of the room.

The river view from our room was fantastic! The room had nice decor. It was great having a kitchen in the room. My husband thought it was one of the best lodging he’s stayed in! The bed pillows weren’t too comfortable (too big) but the bed was comfortable. It was very clean! We would definitely stay here again if we come through again.

Clean room, comfortable bed and pillows, great view from our window of the Columbia River, helpful, friendly staff. The grounds are well cared for and fun to explore, with picnic tables for out door meals overlooking the River. We would love to stay here again! Close for waterfall hikes.

This was our first time staying at this property and we will definitely stay again. It was easy to find, quiet and clean. No complaints. The grounds are very well maintained and beautiful. Being on the river front makes it extra nice. We didn't have a river front view, but next time it's a must.

This is a real gem. Everything is nicely appointed, the beds are very comfortable, and the blackout curtains were great. The grounds are very nicely landscaped and the view is fabulous!

We loved that this room was at a lodge that is tucked back away from the noise and lights of Hood River. It offers a beautiful view of the Columbia and has a King sized bed with a kitchenette - all things we were looking for. It was pretty quiet overall and clean. It looks to have been recently remodeled. That being said, we have a couple of things we did not like about the room. For one, we reserved this room with two adults and one nine year old child. The table only had two chairs. We like to eat together as a family (why we got a kitchenette) so it seemed strange that it was missing a chair. When I called down to the front desk, the girl who answered seemed puzzled and said the maintenance guy had left for the day already but she would call him. She called back to say she had left him a voicemail and would "look around" for another chair. We never heard back from her. Our son had to eat his dinner by himself on the couch on the coffee table which isn't the end of the world, but would have been an easy fix. Why offer a room with two beds that sleeps four with only two chairs?!? Another observation is that there is only one ceiling light for the whole living area/bedroom/kitchen area. There are zero lights over the kitchen. We like to cook our meals because it saves money but this kitchen seemed like an afterthought. There was one very tiny bottle (like travel sized) of dish soap, no dish towels- just one hand towel, no measuring cups or spoons and one tiny garbage can.

A little outdated and the staff gave us the wrong room key but the end were very comfortable and the property was very nice and wonderful to walk around and view the river.

Wonderful facility and location. My room looked out on the Columbia River and the beautiful grounds behind the hotel. Walk along upper bank to look out at river, sitting areas for conversations, and more. The room was lovely with extremely comfortable bed and pillows, nice linens, bathroom fully outfitted with toiletries, excellent TV channel choices and the crowning items ... a wine opener and glasses. I will definitely be back!

The room was comfortable, clean and the lodge location was great. I-84 was noisy but windows kept out most of the noise. The fan in the bathroom was on all the time with a green light that flashed on and off. That was a problem. I was told basically, there was nothing that could be done. The window above the back door let in a lot of light - the neighbor kept their porchlight on all night which in addition to early morning light was unpleasant. We did have a fine time. The grounds are beautiful.

We had an amazing view of the Columbia River; room was exceptionally clean, and very quiet. Our only issue was there isn't enough light in the kitchen when cooking, but we made do (the room had a full size stove and refrig, so we were happy!).

Very nice little hotel right off the highway and close to downtown with quiet, green grounds for strolling and great view of the river. Very clean and comfortable. Reasonable price as well. We will make it a regular stop on our way to the coast.
