We had an absolutely fantastic week-long vacation at Bob’s beautiful home on Lake Hopatcong. Bob was a gracious and responsive host—truly a pleasure to deal with. The kitchen was well-stocked, and all the bedrooms were incredibly comfortable and accommodating.We especially enjoyed the hot tub, spacious deck, BBQ area, dining room, and, of course, swimming in the lake. We brought our waverunner and had a blast out on the water. One night we went out to Pub 199—highly recommend it!Most of our time, though, was happily spent at the house, relaxing by the lake and soaking in the incredible views. Our group ranged in age from 10 to 95, and everyone had a wonderful time! P.S this is a return visit for us as we previously rented from Bob!!

Family Girls weekend

Beautiful view. Spacious. Kayaks for our use was awesome. Very clean inside. Issue with the slider from the livingroom to the deck was tough due to the fact we could not leave it open(screen was broken). If you own or have a boating license, its an awesome place because you have a lot of wonderfuloptions and owner gives you option to rent his. Surrounding restaurants (drivable) were amazing. We were able to walk to one which was a fun night out. Overall really nice place with great communication from the owner

Perfect location on the lake!

The home is spacious and the master bedroom has a great view of the lake. Only wish it had been warmer so that we could sit outside at night by the lake and savor the view.

Can't wait to go back!

Though the weather didn't cooperate, my two daughters and I had a wonderful time at this beautiful lakefront home. We enjoyed cooking in the fully equipped, large, modern kitchen and enjoyed our evenings by the log burning fireplace. We can't wait to go back and enjoy more of the outside area. It was nice enough one day to spend a few hours on the comfortable dock and my daughter enjoyed the kayak. The beds were all very comfortable. We highly recommend Bob's place!

A tremendously appointed mansion !!

The place was exactly as expected. I knew we would despise the area so we went when the weather would just be the last of summer.....it was a lakehouse near our city so we wouldn't have to take a long drive - we only have one driver = to enjoy a lakehouse. Lake Hopatcong has a long history of being an awful party area, being so accesible to New York City

Perfect Lake Front Stay

Beautiful and comfortable lake front home. True lakefront – perfect views and lake access with decks on three levels and a great dock. Lots of good quality outdoor seating. Feels very private and has ample parking and easy access to/from house–rare and important features on a lake. Home feels very welcoming and is well appointed in all regards – comfortable living and dining area with plenty of seating, super equipped kitchen, comfortable beds and quality linens, great lighting throughout (even in the bathrooms – which every woman appreciates). Host is easy to work with and easy to reach if you need anything (we did not) - really wants you to enjoy the property and your stay. We plan to book this property again next year.

The perfect gathering place

Trying to coordinate a family gathering during the holidays was just a simple click away when we found this beautiful home. Arriving at this midway point from Massachusetts and Virginia, we were delighted to find a warm cozy home with spectacular lake views! The house was very well appointed with comfortable bedrooms, and a kitchen to rival any we owned ourselves! Every convenience was there. A dining area to gather around,and a wood burning fireplace with comfy living room couches to relax together in the evening. Everything we hoped for, and more, to make a huge success of our family holiday gathering. Our host was wonderful and made us feel right at home...thank you for a great holiday experience!

Well Appointed with Fabulous View!

The property is as described - very lovely. The decor is so well appointed that you feel as if you are at home (not just in a rental space). The east facing house, situated right on the lake, provides beautiful views. Sun rise is delightful. The space provides ample room for several persons to work alone and be together - when we want to be. The outside spaces with deck and peer (and hot tub) was a great space to relax and talk by the water. Overall, we enjoyed our stay. While I would eagerly return, a few things need to be improved. There were dirty pots and pans in the cupboards which we declined to use or clean. There were dirty linens on a bed which was made-up for use. The owner, Bob, while giving us an orientation, cautioned that sometimes pots are put away dirty and beds are made so he does not know which are clean and which are dirty. I was wondering why he told us this at orientation, then later in the day, we had a dirty bed and dirty pots. Each time the house turns over it needs to be treated like a hotel room and everything needs to be cleaned and freshened and not just the items he suspects were used by the guests. That being said -- I look forward to returning to this property.

Beautiful lake house in perfect location

This lake house was just as advertised - it is right on Lake Hopatcong and you have your own private dock. There are even steps off the dock if you wanted to do some swimming, though it was too cold for us at this time of the year. Seating and outdoor living areas are available at the dock level, on the deck off of the main level, and up on the second level attached to the master bedroom. Unbelievable views of the lake, perfect sunrises, and just overall amazing location. Pros: - Location, lake views, lake access - House amenities (jacuzzi, dock, deck, kayaks, etc.) - Basement game room, but we did not use it - House even had an ample supply of kids toys - new toys are always the best toys so the kids were endlessly entertained - Beautiful TV and lots of streaming/connectivity options, sound bar sounded great - WiFi worked great, no issues with connectivity or speed - Off-street parking - Quiet neighborhood, lots of quaint restaurants nearby - Both heating and air conditioning worked great - we were comfortable the whole time even as the spring temperatures fluctuated from 40-F to 80-F. Cons: - Check-in was a little stressful having to coordinate with Bob and meet him in person. I'm more accustomed to the virtual check-ins. It seems like Bob has a tendency to get guests who can't read basic instructions, so I understand it is what it is. - Some of the kitchen appliances need a little updating. As examples: the refrigerator works, but many shelves in the door had cracks, the drawers had cracks and the slides were broken, the drawer handle falls off, and the bottom drawer wasn't even attached to anything. The dishwasher works but sections of the shelves are broken and completely rusted out and starting to disintegrate away. The little dust-vac in the kitchen runs for about 20 seconds until the battery dies and could barely vacuum up the crumbs from my kids. - The house could use a general cleaning. As examples: there was broken glass in the bottom of the dishwasher and in the silverware basket, there was an empty used water bottle under one of the beds, there was a sticky dust film over things that don't get used regularly, and my kid's pacifier always had dog hair on it even though there are supposedly no pets allowed in this property. Overall summary: would highly recommend and would stay here again. A little cleaning and updating would make this place palatial.
