"Pleasant property and host Jean-Christophe. After road trip we were looking forward to cup of tea, but no tea & coffee facilities in room.
Hadn't planned to travel for dinner but appreciated the restaurant reservation in Perigeux at Hercule Poireau (cave) restaurant, great atmosphere, personable staff and beautifully presented, delicious cuisine.

"I was traveling with my family — two adults and two small children (a 2-year-old and a 6-month-old) — and booked a double room, as I’ve done many times in other hotels without issue.
Upon arrival, the receptionist informed us that having four people in a double room was not allowed.
I calmly explained that we had never encountered this policy before and asked why we would need to pay for an extra bed, especially since our baby doesn’t even use one. The receptionist was unwilling to listen, and...

"Our room was spotless, well-equipped and supremely comfortable and quiet. Breakfast was very good. There is very little you would walk to from here, but if you have a car this is an excellent stop. "

"Il s’agit d’un ancien hôtel campanile. Il est vieux n’est pas entretenu. En ce qui concerne la propreté, il faut la revoir. La vmc est sale. Le petit déjeuner n’est pas à la hauteur : cake n’est pas du jour, nage dans le sucre en poudre une céréale. A déconseiller."

"This hotel is a beautiful oasis very close to historic villages and towns. The rooms are atmospheric and well appointed, the staff is very helpful and friendly, and the restaurant is outstanding. Being at Chateau des Reynats was a blissful experience."

Le Charmant: Elegance and History at the foot of the Cathedral
8/10 Good
"Super clean. No check-in instructions or any communications before arrival - not ideal when you’re traveling and unusual protocol. Good communications once established (took over 12 hrs by email & VRBO messaging & a phone call - told to msg w/ What’sApp). All comms are there, but too little too late. Very accommodating for an early check-in - thank you! Easy self-check in process. A bit weird to self-remove garbage 60m away on the street (& pay the municipality for it) upon departure.Great area of the city to stay in, close to museums, markets, etc. VERY old building so mind that neighbours above are loud walking around, talking, etc. A bit musty after days of rain - to be expected .Place as described/pictured."
"A lovely welcome to the hotel with full information about security, car park and features on the comfortable room.
An excellent restaurant was recommended - Chez Fred. "
Superb Charming Apartment in the heart of Perigueux
8/10 Good
"A very unique apartment right at the heart of the city. Two completely separate suites, each with its own bath and toilet. The kitchen is nice, has all the necessities, though no salt or pepper was stocked. For those with accessibility issues the apartment would have been perfect if the bathroom in the area off the elevator had a walk-in shower. The parking right by the private elevator is amazing. One major complaint is the quality of the furnishings. The bedside tables are wine cases-things fall through them, the bedside lamps either have no lampshades or tumble because their base is not heavy enough. The couch in the living room is the most uncomfortable piece of living room furniture, only surpassed by the metal armchairs. The barstools around the dining room table are a great idea, but the chairs themselves are not as comfortable as one would hope. Having said that, the beds are comfortable, so that’s good!"
