“We had a wonderful stay in this uniquely beautiful property. As other reviewers have said, lovely though the pictures are, they can't do full justice to how stunning the property is - it has to be experienced. The house itself is very stylish, and well equipped with everything that you could possibly need for a comfortable stay. We loved waking up in the morning and opening the windows to the sound of the rushing river. The grounds are something else - so tranquil and calming, close to Nature……

“This was the most cosy and well equipped house we ever stayed in! So much care was taken to ensure we had everything we needed! Very tastefully renovated in a quiet little hamlet, near many, very beautiful places! We visited lots of them: castles of Ussé, Chinon, Azay, l'Islette, a true gem! A week wasn't long enough! We were only with the 2 of us but if you come with more people, take note that there is only one bedroom with a door and that you have to pass the (very beautiful) open space with……

“Property homely, comfortable and peaceful. Adjoining hosts wine growing & tasting business sampling is a must. Plenty of opportunities to walk around the area/vineyards, or take trips to the many fairly close château. The hosts are friendly mostly only French spoken, but we were able to communicate with a few words. A very good place to stay.”

“Bei unserer Ankunft sind wir herzlich begrüßt worden. Das Ferienhaus ist sehr schön eingerichtet und ist ideal für eine Familie mit 2 Kindern. Es verfügt über 2 Terrassen und an kühleren Tagen kann gern der Kamin benutzt werden. Die Ausstattung ist sehr gut: Küche, Wohnzimmer, Bad und Schlafzimmer bieten alles für einen angenehmen Aufenthalt. Wir haben uns rundum wohlgefühlt und kommen sehr gerne wieder. Das Haus liegt in einem ruhigen Wohngebiet; in das Zentrum sind es ca. 10 Minuten zu Fuß.……

“Lovely two-week springtime stay, seeing nature in and around the attractive small lake change in front of our eyes. We pretty much had the site to ourselves - there’s an adjoining gite but it’s discretely separate. WiFi was installed whilst we were there; a nice bonus we didn’t expect. Very well equipped, clean and with wonderful, caring owners. Thanks for the tasty home-made jams and local wine. Well situated for visiting the area. Our big dog had fun too. Recommended!”

Communication with René was incredibly efficient before and during our stay, including recommended restaurants and local events taking place during our stay. Location of the property is perfect for what we wanted - close to the centre of Avoine and it's facilities, but secluded and not overlooked. “A very spacious property both inside and out. Very well equipped, and appearing to be further developed. Very good kitchen, bbq and outside areas and a rather quirky inside layout. Lots of space for families with children. We had an issue at one point and the owners, who are charming people, were very quick to respond and to try and sort things out. The pool, of course, is excellent, particularly as we had extremely hot weather.”
