"The location is excellent!
It’s close walking distance to many tourist sites and museums in the city and close to the Maritime Museum bus stop.
We loved the breakfast provided by the hotel and the Hygge coffee shop and bakery there.
The spa was closed during our stay which wasn't great and we weren’t refunded the extra money we had paid for spa access. They did include one day of free hotel breakfast and a free coffee for the two of us though which was very kind.
The staff were all very lovely and helpful. There was even a cat hanging around the front lobby area for most of our stay"
"Easiest and fastest checkin. No checking passports and id and no credit card. They obviously trust their customer. Good location with cool Food Hall across the street. Nice cold plunge, steam room, hot tub area. Smaller room by North American standards but comfortable beds. Parking is incredibly easy for Iceland. Just a good place. Stay here"
"The absolute perfect place to stay on my first solo trip and first time in Iceland! The location was beyond convenient. The hubs were cozy and modern. USB and USB-C ports on either side of the bed, mood lighting, Bluetooth speakers. The bathrooms were clean and spacious. Staff was quick to answer any questions i had. 100000/10 recommend."
"Fosshótel Baron was located at the perfect spot in Reykjavik where multiple establishments were at a walking distance. The hotel also has a parking lot in front of the entrance where guests can park (for a fee) and hotel guests get a small discount. Will stay here again!"
"This was not the best stay but it was self inflicted by not selecting a room with a Mountain View. The street lights are bright all night. The other factor was that the room is small. My wife had a cold so it made it even more challenging. Food was good. Cocktails were very good. Everything was x2 as much as you would think it should be so 27 dollars for a cocktail…"
"Great location. Lobby is always busy due to restaurant and bakery on site, which can be cumbersome for guests trying to get to the check-in desk. This property charges in Euros, which is unusual. Parking garage is TINY but convenient, especially if you have an electric car and need to charge. It’s very cheap, you just need to ask the front desk to use the charger. "
"Nicely appointed room (great high ceilings) and bathroom. Careful when showering as water gets sprayed everywhere as it is essentially a wet room. We were on the mountain and parking lot side. Unless you are going to be in your room a lot I am not sure the up charge for the ocean view is worth it. Would stay here again.
Enjoyed the hot tub but not the long trek down to it and the sauna. They provide bathrobes but still felt weird trooping through the lobby and bar in a wet bathing suit and shoes. There is nothing around the hotel other than a nice cafe south of the hotel but it closes at 5pm. Restaurant was very expensive and fortunately we had eaten at the cafe prior to check in. Hot tub was nice after a long day. Sauna was full so didn’t use it. For the size of the property maybe they need to expand that. Oh and the name is a little deceiving as the Glacier Lagoon is still a 30 minute drive away. Highly recommend the puffin tour with Einar. "
