Lovely traditional style hotel, very friendly helpful staff. Not our usual style/design chosen for a hotel but it is lovely if you want archetypical English. Great Breakfast (included), wide choice and all served, no buffet…which is a lovely change but as soon as it got busy it slowed to not receiving a coffee for 20 min wait- then you’re charged service for your free breakfast - a small glitch in an otherwise lovely stay.

We loved staying in this gorgeous historic inn (established 1106). Our spacious room had lots of character but had also been thoroughly updated for comfort. The bathroom was great, and looked onto an old turnpike stone. Just remember to close the blind before you undress as the large windows reveal all to the neighbours. Super convenient for Heathrow & Windsor and a really nice place to spend a night or two.

I would not rate this hotel as 4 stars. The room was very small, bathroom had one towel and half used toilet paper roll and lotion. The towel warmer was all rusted and there was a gross stain on the carpet. Also, we had no electricity for 2 hours as charging our phones tripped the circuit in the room. They did eventually fix it but that should not have happened

"Cleanest ever hotel room I have stayed in. Spotless. We had trouble finding the entrance doorway, the reception was noisy (noises echoing made it worse). Dining room and food laid out for breakfast and the tables and seating were separated by the reception desks and the route to the door and lifts. ..."
