Great place. Clean for an old cabin. Hosts were responsive. Pet friendly. The only thing, I blinds around the house except for in the master bedroom. Even then, there’s a side door in the bedroom with a small window and no blinds. We had to use a bedsheet to cover that window.

Stunning views

We had a great time. The house was clean and the views were spectacular. Adrian , the property manager was incredible! Very responsive and great attitude! He made the stay extra special. We will be back!

The view outweighs all negatives.

The property sits on the outskirts of town. The house needs TLC. The property manager is awful, and you will need additional physical signatures to access the property, more if you are arriving after office hours and did not complete all the paperwork before your arrival. Regardless of all these issues, this property has one of the best mountain views I have seen in all my 30 years going to Idyllwild. Sunrises and sunsets are breathtaking and will dissolve away all the hassles experienced during your stay.

Incredible view

We spent a really good time. The view and the deck were amazing. Very cozy cabin. One thing that I have to say, is that some of the furnitures were old. But in general we love our stay there.

Has the potential to be amazing

Let me start by saying that I stay in Idylwild a lot and like to try new places. I am never expecting five star luxury accomodations when I come to visit. I love the cabins and rustic charms. I chose this location because of the views pictured mostly but the accommodations were pretty low grade. When we arrived after picking up the keys from the property managers office. We walked into the house and the first thing you are created with is an old musty smell. Like you've walked into grandmas attic. I immediately went to open some windows to air it out. Well the sliding glass door that leads to the deck opened fine but the screen door that looked recently installed couldn't close because a very large door handle was on the exterior of the sliding glass door. There was also no handle on the sliding screen door, instead a hole had been cut out directly into the screen material so Even if you could close the screen you still have a large opening for bugs. Most of the windows need replacement. They are janky and some are dangerous. There were ants on the kitchen countertops at all times. The kitchen was well equipped with anything you might need to cook and serve meals. The beds were average for comfort but the bedspreads were very dated. The walls were dirty and dusty in every room. The deck furniture is shredded and very cheap/ugly. Even the dining room chairs has holes through the seats. I wouldn't stay here again unless updated.

Very Peaceful place!

our family of six came up for a long weekend and have come home, relaxed and happy. The picture of the view you see online is even better in Person !!!!!! It’s quiet and peaceful and yet close enough for my kids to go to town for fun. The house has everything you would need comfortable beds, plenty of towels, hot showers and enough plates and dishes for any meals you might cook. The home is a great value and our family wants to go again.

Winter Vacation

Overall are stay was fantastic. We had a small hiccup upon arrival, even though on the rules/information packet states they recommend all-wheel drive, 4-wheel drive & even some chains. It would have been nice for the property manager to set up the vacation home by shoveling the driveway for tenants after a major storm occurred the prior night. In the driveway was about 1 feet of snow. Our car was able to go right up the driveway, but we had trouble with my sister in laws. We did utilize the chimney, but when we did use most of the smoke was entering the home. In addition, there was no fence around the chimney to prevent ambers from pooping out to the carpet or even the sofas. Other than that, beautiful home, beautiful scenery, well stock with kitchenet items. We left happy.

Lovely view and location

Beautiful location, stunning views, very clean. ONLY problem (if you can call it that) is that the house is very dated. Electrical not up to code, dry rot on deck and hand rails, House desperately needs a paint job, floors need to be refinished. Overall rated it a 10, but think the owner needs to spend some $$ to pull it up to date.

Just aweful

First let me start with the positive - great view and well stocked kitchen. This is not a complaint email, rather a concern emial. I know we were supposed to let you know about concerns right away, but there were just too many. We lived in Pine Cove and truly understand the mountain. I would not rent this house again until many changes were made, for your reputation sake- do not rent this house again. Here are the concern's: This home is rat and bug infested. Upstairs- no window coverings - very disturbing. The back screen sliding door is broken as our most screens in the house, some windows don't open at all. The back sliding door does not lock- anyone could get in while sleeping- very scary. I had to clean the house 100%. I pulled appliances away from counters, huge ants and bugs. Cleaned floors- filthy. Did not clean bathroom floor- disgusting. Although the deck has amazing views, nothing was cleaned up and the umbrella does not have a base- how do you put it up? Bathroom- stained floor, hair dryer does not work with current electric situation. My husband is an expert in homes and states the electrical situation here is dangerous and he is shocked it has passed inspection. Where is the DVD player and the TV remotes do not work- maybe they need batteries? ? Where are trash cans- we went to the dump ourselves. Downstairs - huge COB webs with spiders- big black ones and bugs all over the towels. I got it livable but did not do major cleaning- too much. I need t

Heat was out

Unfortunately, the stay was less then ideal. The view is gorgeous and the home is very cozy but the heat was broken all weekend and it was super cold. The manager brought wood for the fire & space heaters but it didn’t do much to help heat the house at night and the use of the electric heaters blew the fuse so I had to reset the fuse box multiple times. Overall, it was a frustrating trip in a beautiful house.

Could not have wished for better

Everyone in my family loved the location and view of this place. We did have a small problem with the bathroom door but it was addressed immediately. The property is a few minutes from the nature center, it was comfortable and could not have wished for better I really appreciate the place and i know my parents and my brothers also enjoyed every minute of it. I highly recommend it.

Not exactly “luxury”

Sunset Perches views are amazing - but unfortunately - that seems to be all it has going for it. I had issues upon initial booking and when I got there - the property is old and worn and not worthy of a “luxury” listing. If you’re looking for views and solitude - this place fits the bills but no AC or fans during hot summer days made the place uncomfortable - not to mention hot tub not working and house in need of some care and attention. Would not stay here again for the price

AMAZING VIEW

This property was incredible, the nature lover will love the views from every angle. A rustic decor with antiques. very clean, had everything we needed. The hot tub and view made you feel like you were part of the forest. Secluded yet close to town, and hiking trails.

Can't beat those views!

Views are incredible! Kitchen has everything you need for cooking. It's about a 8 minute drive to the village. Saw other reviews about people saying the place is a bit run down. I would agree but frankly when I go to stay in a place in Idyllwild I am not expecting luxury settings. I'm looking for a funky, fun, place that will allow dogs and hopefully have some awesome views and this place met all my criteria. We are looking forward to renting this place again!

We all love the floor plan of the property because it allowed for privacy amongst 4 adults. The deck was espectacular with plenty of space and a magnificent view. The propane grill on the deck made cooking fun. The kitchen is very well equipped for different kinds of cooking. The hot tub works well and offers a beautiful view while you are in it….definitely a plus. The house is decorated with plenty of character and many fun pieces all around the house. Overall. It was a wonderful stay and the fact that is pet friendly is another plus. It could improve in cleanliness and mattress comfort.

Once well lived home needs repair

We arrived during very hot weather. The house could not accommodate. No working ceiling fan. No means of keeping the house cool except the floor fans provided by property management. House was approximately 90 degrees until 8/9 pm each night. Blinds on the windows need to be replaced. Some had been removed and not replaced. Main access door screen on to deck off the track and basically unusable. Throw pillows need washing. Couch had slight rips in fabric. Railings on deck are ready to be replaced. Somewhat unsafe. Bathroom shower drips. Deck had a place for an umbrella but it was not put up. Gutters were 1/2 on and 1/2 off the house. The house needs some TLC. It had general charm and was once a lovely home. It is time for some investment in it. It is not worth the price we paid per not and it should not be on the market in summer months if it can not manage the heat.

dilapidated and disappointing

We've stayed at many short-term rentals and rarely been disappointed. This time was different. The location and view were indeed gorgeous. But the house is seriously run-down: doors and fixtures don't work, stains on the furniture, blinds broken, mice, and the second bedroom & bathroom are so dank and dilapidated our son refused to sleep there. We were so uncomfortable we left a day early.

The property was amazing except...

The additional room down bellow did not lock from the outside or inside so we all stayed in the main home not too big of a deal however not safe if you are staying down bellow either. The main house was exceptional! beautiful kitchen, beautiful living room!! plenty of space for a small getaway for a family exceptionally clean as well!Would definitely recommend and stay again minus the additional room down below that needs to be addressed other than that exceptional property....Also the check-in was at four and your checkout is at 10 AM kinda robs you of a full day in my eyes but due too COVID they take that additional time too clean
